Amazing news guys - I got a place on childrens branch today!!!! Just got a phone call at work after 3pm offering me a place as someone had dropped out!
I had assumed after reading on here that all the places had been filled that I hadn't got a place.
you can't imagine how happy I am. Did it take long to get your confirmation letter after the phone call? Can't wait for all the info.
I feel really bad about leaving work at such short notice but my manager is great.
ANyone on here that has a place will understand exactly how happy you feel, well done x

Congraulations that is fantastic news, I'm not sure how long it will take but the only real info was about the uniform fittings and a timetable for the induction week!! But I understand you want the acceptance letter it feels great! Hope you get your letter soon and I shall see you on the 13th! Congratulations again :woo:

aww, thanks everyone.
Can anyone tell me how long the uniform fitting is - are we in time slots or can you come in at any time you want? It's just that i feel bad enough giving work such short notice and i'd hate to ask for a full day off next week.
Also, is there anything else essential in the induction week that we have to go to?

Not sure how long the uniform fitting will take but I would assume that the whole of the induction week is essential. Prob wouldnt be a good idea to miss any of it.
You get allocated a time slot for your uniform fitting follwed by completion of your registration and getting your student card. For me the whole thing took about 2-3 hours....majority of that just waiting to try on uniforms

no, that is the actual timetable for your stream, took it of the site... and because the halls be limited, they keep it pretty much the same throughout all the years... my advice would be to raise the issue with our personal tutor when you have a meeting with them, usually a couple of weeks prior to placement 1...
the only real outcome, would be you forfit the june exams, and just go for the repeats... sorry can't be more help
oh god... thanks for ur help louise, will have to get something sorted!

hi daisy boo, when i rang today they told me places 4 sept and feb intake where all full. and if any1 was to drop out or nt show up the place is offered to the next on reserve

Hi im a student nurse at queens and my sister applied this year and got a score of 19. basically i was speaking to the girls in registry and they said that they have almost gotten down through the 20s but thats it, that sept and feb are now full and there are no more spaces for anymore reserves at this time and if people drop out that will create more spaces but they will go to the last few with a score of 20 but its unlikley that more than single figures drop out at this point. there are around 700 in total on the reserve list and you are ranked in accordance with your exam results, for example if you have a score of 19 and got 67% in your access those with 68% or higher with a score of 19 will be placed higher up the list of 19s. queens advised me when i asked them for my sister that to go go other courses they have been offered or go to tech if they choose because its not looking likely for feb unfortunatly. letters are going out in the post in the next week or 2 confirming this apparently. however you will get the option to remain on the reserve list it really may not be likley that anything will come of it, looking at the situation at the min. sorry to be the bearer of bad news! i just thought u all could do with a heads up x

I give up lol, I'm sticking with the agency work
