Nursing at Queens...

Anyone else not get their polo shirt yet...i went for mine yesterday but it wasnt there....do we need them for practical on Tuesday?

Hey trisha, I'm in group C2 and we got given our tshirts at our personal tutor meeting on wed, from the people I have spoken to though, very few people have been given theirs...hopefully you will be able to get them from reception on monday! :smile:

Does anyone know how we find out what stream we are in for placements, A,B or C? I've no idea!! lol xo

when you get your first placement, by what type it is. But, be careful, don't rely too much on it, not everybody will follow that exactly, it will depend what places they have... but you will have every type.

thanks, our personal tutor didnt have ours and the girl at reception in bmc yesterday said some havnt came in yet but they expecting another batch on tuesday. Cant wait to find out where we are all going for clinical placement. :smile:

Hey!

I applied for Child Nursing in Sept but just missed out on a place, and am now on the reserve list for Feb intake (adult). I haven't heard any word, bar a letter asking me if I wanted to stay on reserve list, + I returned it but don't know if they got it or what's happening there.

Feb intake: have any of you heard anything or do you know when you will? What's the chances for us unlucky ones on the reserve list? Coz I would love to be at QUB in Feb :frown:

i'm children's branch but we've all got the same coursework so far - there's a group presentation, a 500 word written assignment and an exam, all coming up over the next two weeks!! So we're very busy at the minute. Then we're out on placement on 1st nov for six weeks, then 3 weeks off over christmas!!

Registry rang me today offering me a place in February (adult branch) as I was next on the reserve list, sooo glad I decided to keep on the list. I can't believe it, a soon to be student nurse!! :biggrin:

My name is Dawn yes that was very unexpected i was in work when they called i remember having conversations with u before when i was desperatley waiting for a phone call at end of August but personally Feb is a better time for me, maybe thats the way it was meant to be. That's right I remember, oh August was a terrible month!! I was basically on edge all summer! but I agree with you, feb was meant to be :smile:

I will be driving to bangor and getting the train up, that's easiest for me, how about you? Have you got your letter in the post yet? they said they would send it out this week x

I think i am gona drive to the park and ride at Lisburn and get the bus the rest of the way. No not yet she told me to look out for a letter first week in Nov and to follow the instructions. Im so excited i cant wait. U will have to keep me posted on your appointment times and stuff maybe i will see you there. Do you know anyone startin in Feb cuz i dont know a soul :smile:
