Nursing at Queens...

Hey everyone, not long to go now ... the nerves are kicking in. Going to be so strange.. Got my letters yday to say my reg is 9-10 and uniform fitting is 10-11. Cant wait to get up!! I'm going to be travelling, don't know if I'm wise every1 seems to be moving up :s-smilie:

Hi Sheree i cant wait im just dreadin the travelling i live in the sticks of nowhere and have to get 3 buses to get to queens dont have my driving test which would have been have been handy to drive part of the way i have failed like 3 times ha ha

Hey guys, not long now till you all start.....about the hep b jab, queens organise that with occupational health, you'll get one when you start, the 2nd before first placement and the 3rd a few months later, i started in sept and only getting my 3rd jab in March.,.the only thing i would advise you to do is go to your GP and get flu/swine flu and meningitis C cause they ask you to get them before you go on 1st placement and occupational health dont do them so the earlier you get them the better, just get a note from GP/nurse to certify you received them and on what date. Best of luck to you all, im heading out on 8 weeks placement the day you all start. :-)

Well Cupcake and Daisy Boo was chating with u both before xmas i got a call last tuesday offering me a place to start 14th Feb cant believe it i had totally given up hope and didnt even re apply i was so disheartened but there you go im in !!!!

Whoop whoop well done that is fantastic thats a surprise if ever there was one. I know it dosnt give u much time but im sure you are glad you got a place. This day week it all kicks off, maybe see you there :wink:

Hi Ferg66 I think I remember reading somewhere on this that they only accept cash so i'm going to bring cash just in case. More nervous than excited at the moment!

I know it's going to be a nightmare, I'm up at the crack of dawn to get there. So nervous but hopefully meet some of use up there :smile:

Aww at the same time driving through traffic would have your head fried but spose it would help :smile:

oh daisy boo it has been such a longggg journey to get this far , i dont have to go to registration i just have to start on monday so hopefully see u then ill prob be the only mature student !!

Yeah im def going to apply again. Just something happened there and it has restricted me from continuing and the moment. However i am def going to apply for the next time. Im so jealous reading how everyone is getting on but im using that to make me want it more.lol. i hope everyone keeps posting how they get on, it will help the rest who are applying in the furture

Im sitting in work now and i know that i should be getting ready to go meet everyone else who are students nurses.lol :frown:

Don't worry, you really won't be the only mature student - I'm 35 and there are lots of mature students. Nursing attracts mature applicants, I'd say at least a quarter of our cohort are older.

Yeah deffering my place was the first thing i tried to do. Though they said that places could only be deffered through medical circumstances. Bit Pd off, but thats the way it happens. Going to become a dad any day now :eek:

so il put my attention on this first.lol. Then reapply. Hope everything works out for everyone
