I honestly have no idea, a nurse friend of mine claimes that they have to allocate so many places to school leavers and so many to mature applicants. If you read posts from last year on this some people with a score of 19 on reserve got a place yet afterwards someone with a score of 20 did not??? It worrys me because if it is true the chances of mature students on reserve getting a place is lower as mature students are less likely to change their minds and decline places :-/

Emma the highest interview scores get places.....

hi everyone, I have a conditional offer for Queens adult nursing Feb intake....I know I should be happy butreally wanted to get started in sept...phoned reg office today to ask if I could go on reserve list for sept...they said no. How do they decide who gets sept offers and feb offers. They make life difficult in that office :-(

Hi, i too am feb 2013 intake, on my offer letter it said by accepting the offer you accept to start in either sept or feb, is that the case for you? Also said my intake will be confirmed end of this month and turns out it was cofirmed today im def feb intake. There are a lot of advantages to the feb intake. Smaller intake means more personal interactions with tutors, the structure of the year is very good ive seen older timetables for feb intake an lot of time over xmas off and a decent summer too, also it will mean a summer gradution as opposed to a winter one, a big onw for me, especially because the bursary is being cut, is a chance to work and saw and save because once this course starts its all go, ive registered with a nursing agency and get shifts on care homes which i would recommend completely. Dont be sad about starting in feb it's just the way people have been divided up it doesnt mean weve done worse at interview or anything like that. Were so lucky out of all the applicants to be offered a place at all  (also because te course is being completely ovehauled from
Sept by the time feb comes any blips will be ironed out  )
Hiya! I also got word yesturday that my start date has been confirmed as Feb 2013 intake for Adult Nursing. I don't really mind cause it gives me more time to save a bit of money and i have a full time job atm anyway cause this is a gap year for me, but does anyone know what holidays we get or what way the year is planned out? Would really like to know :s-smilie: x
Does sep intake get confirmation of their start aswell or is it only feb intake x

I turned my place down aswel.... I am reserve for Midwifery with an interview score of 44 out of 50 I am wondering is anyone else reserve for Midwifery x

I recieved offers for both Adult Nursing and Midwifery. Accepted my midwifery offer so my nursing will be available to someone on reserve. i know two people of the reserve list for Midwifery, one with a score of 42 and the other hasnt recieved score yet. have also heard of someone who recieved midwifery offer but unfortunately is not sitting on good position with maths.

you stand a good chance skintflint. do you know anyone else on reserve of 44?

Anyone else had their occupational health check yet or heard when we should get those results/ when firm offers are given for either nursing or midwifery?

Does everyone get this appointment?
I don't think so, I knew I would get one because I have a bit of eczema, think if u don't have any medical issues they don't tend to call u for an appt although I'm not 100% x

My understanding is that is definitely goes on interview scores. The difference in marks may be explained by what branch you're going for, eg children's is the most competitive, and therefore higher scores are needed to secure a place. People with 22+ were on reserves in my intake.

Im neither a school leaver nor am i a mature student. Im inbetween! Lol.

Having problems with my internet- my other post was meant to say that everyone with a conditional offer recieves an occupational health check as they require a blood sample for screening of HIV, Hep b+ c from everyone even if there is nothing on your health declaration form.
