My understanding is that is definitely goes on interview scores. The difference in marks may be explained by what branch you're going for, eg children's is the most competitive, and therefore higher scores are needed to secure a place. People with 22+ were on reserves in my intake.

Thanks, this makes sence. So people on reserve were on reserve for particular branches. I don't think it works that way this year as we received emails stating that we would be considered for all branches. Suppose this way is fairer as those with highest scores will be offered a place 1st

hey all, with reference to occupational health appointments, they do not tend to call people at this stage unless they have declared any issues on their form. Come starting the course everyone will get an appointment to go for hepatitis B immunisations or blood tests to check for current immunity if you have already had this course. It involves four visits to occ health, 3 for the immunisations and a final one for a blood test.

Also a congratulations to each and every one who has offers conditional and reserve! You will all love the course, it's hard work but it really flies in and the people you meet are amazing. Any learning disability nurses to be on here?! September wont be long coming around!!! xx

Is this the way they did it last year? It's sooo confusing when everyone says different things and hard to know whats right lol. People with the experience seem to know best tho! I had my occupational health app last week tho i didn't have any issues on my form. I do not already have hep B and nothing was mentioned about it. They took a blood sample and said results would take month or two but as far as they were concerned I had passed their check and was through their process. In the conditional offer package given in may Hep was not one of the immunisations it stated that you needed to have to commence the course!

I think they call anyone who has declared any health problems on their form. I phoned them up (asthma and eczema) and they have arranged an appointmnet for tmrw. If I hadnt phoned, i expect i would have been called when they screened my form...

Anyone know if they tell you there and then that you are fit? Dont want to wait 2 months, as have 2 job offers in the pipeline, but really want to do Nursing.

Asthma and Eczema shouldnt stop you at all! When i had mine last week. I was in and out in less than 5mins literally. They took blood as they said they have to screen everyone. I asked when results where due and she said that as far as they (occupational health) were concerned everything was fine and i had passed and that it was just handed over to the registry office now to give the results (prob at least August!) and to give firm offer.

I am seeing the doctor, did you see the nurse? Have you a conditional offer?
hey guys, this is how it worked last year but they may well have changed things with the introduction of the new course. we didnt get word about hep B until we started the course as you dont need your first immunisation until before your first placement so they see everyone within the first 6 weeks for this. think the appointments were given out within a lecture in the welcome week but i may be wrong. hope this helps xx
hey i was just wondering does anyone no how many places that there is for mental health nursing?
csands951, I think they said mental health has been cut to 40 to us but these stories change constantly to be honest. r u conditional or reserve?
ahhh its nearly the month of July... hurry up August! :-)

I've prepared myself for trying again next year, what's meant to be will be. Are you on reserve for queens & Magee Catherine?

I wonder if you asked would they give you an estimate of how many people from reserve got offered places in previous years? It would be interesting to know...

Also I seen that someone said there were 250 places this year?? With 304 reserves so does this mean there are reserves for reserves??

I didn't apply to Magee as I'm from Belfast & have children so queens is more convenient, I am waiting on access results hopefully I'll get them next week!! Good luck with both least you have two chances of getting an offer! Xx
