Hi everyone, im new here. looking for some advice if anyone can help me. I got my conditional offer from UU for MH nursing and i met the conditions so they have offered me a place beginning in sept, which i was initially all set for accepting as its closer to where i live and i love the MH side of things. However as I was placed on the reserve list for Nursing at Queens i didnt think i would get an offer and I didnt ask for my interview score as I didnt want to get my hopes up, but today I got a call saying they are offering me a place for the Feb intake. So now im completely confused. I was all prepared for Magee but now Im thinking what about Queens. Is there more opportunities for people graduating from QUeens? Or more opportunity for adult nursing rather than MH nursing? SOrry for the long winded message guys...just looking for any details of opportunities from either course or unis.. hope u can help me..
Hard decision but u need to think about what's best for ur current situation and home life and also and probably most important which type of nursing do u really want. Sleep on it as u will then be able to weigh up all the pros n cons of each.
Thank u ali53.. I think MH nursing is so interesting & i know its so hard to get into. But i dont want to be the one to turn Queens down. And also i do want a career that I can go further with & travel with. Do you know if there are the same types of opportunity for MH nurses as Adult nursing? Are u starting in Feb also??

Yes I'm starting in feb. honestly don't know enough about mental health nursing to be able to help you, although I consider adult nursing to be more general nursing so you can go in so many directions from it once qualified.
I think we finish in December 2015. I'll be 35 a few weeks after we start and my friend from college is starting in feb n she's a year r 2 older than me.
Hey, I'm starting LD nursing in september, was wondering if someone could give me some advice? As the bursarys are being cut, I really need to keep on my part time job, however as the placements can be spread anytime throughout the week/overnight/weekends, do you think it would be too hard to hold down a job as well? Any advice or information yous can share with me would be great! xx
Hey i emailed the office to ask them bout the uniform and books.
I have been hearing that we not longer get any money we spend on them refunded!! Although some people are saying that its not true, and we will be repaid for them in our first bursary payment.
Has anybody heard any information on this as the office hasnt replied to me yet.
Just finished adult nursing at QUB a few weeks ago...all the best to those starting in the next few weeks! Enjoy yourselves as the three years fly by so quickly!
