There was in previous years as you applied directly to the school but not anymore as you apply through UCAS

Hey, I am hoping to apply for nursing at queens for 2013. I don't have a science background though! I have ACC in my a levels and a 2.1 degree in textile design. I went to the open day and one of the lecturers said I would struggle with the science modules. Did anyone else get this kind of feedback and doesnt come from a science background? thanks kate
Hi folks I'm currently studying nursing at queens, i started last feb so have just finished first year but i am now pregnant so have to take a year out to have baby. i will be starting back along with the feb 2013 intake when they start 2nd year. i was wondering if anyone has set up a facebook page yet just so i can meet people. im a bit worried about joining a group in 2nd year as friendships will already be made and i dont want to be by myself!

Hi Catherine! I'm also going to be starting in Feb. 2013 and wondered if I would be able to join the Facebook page. I tried searching for it when someone had mentioned it in a previous post but haven't been able to find anything. If I could, that would be great! Thanks!

Hi Ko29,
I don't know what you decided on in the end (I may be too late here!) but I say go for it! I did AS Level Biology, did rubbish and dropped it...I was TERRIBLE at it. But then I did the Anatomy+Physiology module in first year and because everybody is started at the same level, and the lesson is taught fairly with extra help given, I didn't find it too hard in the end, honestly. Passed my A+P exam and I am now well into my second year with quite a sound understanding of A+P.
While a non-science background will make you struggle that WEE bit harder, it's not the be all and end all. If I've learnt anything, the only thing that will get you through nursing is passion and determination. Honestly. Good luck with it all! I can tell you by the time you reach my stage you'll feel like you've aged 10years but you'll not regret a bit of it if it's truly for you! Good luck all ^_^
