Hey guys......I've just finished my 3 years at Queens......I have to say it was the most amazing 3years.....I'm a mature student...started Queens one month before my 40th birthday, single mum to 3 teenagers. ...hard work but worth every ounce of it.......good luck and congratulations to you all. ...you'll love your time there :-)

I have books ..... I'm looking to sell them if anyone is interested......I'll upload a picture of them later.....spelling at a fraction of the price I paid for them..

Once again. ...congratulations and good luck :-)

Congratulations is in order for yourself!! What branch did u study? What books do u have and price for them xx
Hi, I am just wondering does anyone on this forum know if there is a forum for nursing applications 2014 for QUB/UU or is it just this one? can only really find one for 2013 intake. thanks in advance

Sorry haven't been on to check this for ages, I studied adult Nursing, I'll get a list of my books and post them later, thanks
I have just completed my nursing degree in queens this year and just waiting for my pin to be activated! Depending what nursing you want to go into the questions they ask at the interview can be different . I did my degree in mental health nursing and I absolutely love it. Got to admit though it was a lot of hard work long days out on placement . However the Curriculum I did has totally changed a lot of the people that taught me throughout my 3 years has also left.

Most rewarding but challenging job but I love every minute of it! What type of nursing do you want to do I'm not sure what type of questions try would ask in children's or adult nursing but mental health and learning disability questions were similar from people I'm friendly with.
Trish I'd be interested in any 2nd year books you have. I'm off on maternity leave and due to start 2nd y ear soon so as you can imagine money is tight. Hope I'm not too late.

I think you can apply to Elms and the likes if you're staying for the year - she must have been thinking you meant during placement, the hospital offers accommodation in that case.

can you actually stay at elms for the entire year even though u get changed for palcements? what happens to ur accommodation if ur placement is far? if not, i really hope i wont need to apply to guthrie house accommodation every 6 weeks cuz of the placements. i reckon thats incredibly inconvenient.. they are not giving much information for the feb intakes...
hi can anyone on here pleas tell me how many hours/days they are in uni a week in your first year of nursing? also what did you put down as your 5 choices and which of these did you get offers for? thanks in advance!!

Hi
I'm in first year, this was my 2nd time applying to Queen's.
I put down adult branch only and got an offer for both the sept and feb intakes thankfully
I'm in Monday 10-3, Tuesday 9-4, Wednesday 9-5, Thursday off, Friday 10-12(sometimes 9-11 or later)
The timetable does vary slightly from week to week but so far have always had a Thursday off(necessary for self study after about week 2)
I'll be honest, it is tough going but I'm really enjoying it and can't wait to start placement
Good luck

Yes I remember you from on here applying and getting your results, your name is familar!! Glad you are loving the course, I am happy to hear! I wanted to see how often you were in class to know wheather or not to live down but hearing that you are in that much it would be good to live down! Can you tell me what choices you put down on your ucas and for what uni's please! my head is wrecked lol my college is no help at all :frown:
Im busy applying to queens at the moment...
Quite nerve wracking since I haven't been on ucas since I was 18 or looked at university since I last graduated.
I just dont want the universities I apply to to think im just after another degree.
I hated my last one and after working in the care sector for the past 4 years ive really set my heart on doing learning disability nursing. Fingers crossed I can put this across in my personal statement and hopefully, interview!

I applied and got accepted but there weren't any tests required. You only have to do the interview after your application through UCAS then some paperwork like immunisation records afterwards but that's it. You do get a situational question towards the end of the interview though. But no maths test!
