i didnt get anything yday!! ahh! ive heard a couple of people sayin they hav been for a medical??? everyone is hearin diff things at diff times!! argh!! i havent heard ANYTHING! so frustratin!! lol

Hey guys!! Finally found a site for students startin nursing! I start in feb aswell, adult! Leave work in 3 weeks and its all starting to seem to real!!
Queens r really unorganised, the amount of different stories I have heard about letters and yes theyve went out, and no they havent been written yet haha!! But they are supposed to be out this week, and we are to hear about bursary this week as well.
Meant to get 900 2nd week of march and then 500 at the end of every month after that!! Sounds good now, but it'll be expensive doing everything!!
Realy looking forward to starting, but it's been a long time since I've done an assignment or exam! Ahhh. I live in lisburn so just travelling for first year anyway and see how it works out money wise!! Don't know where I'm going to park tho!!

hey ashc123 i had my medical in the summer. my friend is starting in feb too and she hasnt had a medical. she phoned them last week re the medical and they had her on the list as having already taken it. think u should maybe phone them and see if u need one cause they might have put u on the wrong list. x

flip sake they r so disorganised!!! - i got my bursary forms in today. - rang Queens there and they said not everyone gets a medical. I passed at fit back in the summer so i dont need one! lol - They said we'll be getting the important date forms out by saturday morning and she said uniform fittings are on the 9th February!! :smile:

I'm elms atm....lived here last year as well when i did a different degree, they're very nice especially if you get the ensuite. You'll probably see me dandering about elms in my uniform in feb lol.

Hey y'all... good luck for starting soon!!

Bursary... you will get a check for about 950 2 weeks or so into the course,
£500 for march, £80 for books, £140 for uniform and £230-ish for 2 weeks in feb...
your next payment will not be unitl end of april...!

placements... don't worry too much, you usually get them 5 or 6 weeks before you go. I have been lucky, both been close to home. They do try to accomadate you... and you can swap... if the person is same branch and same stream.
as regards accomadation... if the distance from home to placement is farther than what you would have to travel to uni the will give you expenses... the cheapest option of private car, nursing accomidation or public transport - even if you don't use it.

what else.... em first week? as jason said it is nothing to write home about, lots of free time. this may seem pointles... but it is then where you bond with, and get to know your group. Silly things like sitting in the hall at occupational health waiting for your injections.

One piece of advice... holes essential anatomy... get it, bio-med is based on it. It is the guts of 45£ in uni bookshop... I got it for 22£ on amazon... and the essential nursing skills is also on the list... it is really good for clinical skills....

Hey i got my letter today! Wooot! We start on the 15th. I thought we strted on the 8th but i guess not.

My uniform fitting is on the 9th at 10-11 is anyone else's then?

Im not shy but i dont know anyonee at all but i guess everyones in the same boat! Lets just all agree were all going to be lovely n talk to everyone!

Im so nervous but soo excited!! Also bad news for me im in london on the 9th when all the uniform fittings r....uh ohh, gona give them a ring tomorrow! Wheres everyone living this year? im already moved out on the lisburn road! Doing adult nursing! YAY its soo soon actually!!
