Nursing at Queens...

one of my teachers told me that she knows an a level student that got a rejection letter from queens........so if a teacher said it....it must be true.........what u reckon????lol........

I was wondering if there is anyone who put childrens nursing as there 1st choice could help me, when i went for my interview it was just for nursing sciences, they acknowledged in the interview that i had put childrens as my first choice but never asked me any questions about it, just asked me about nursing in general! im so confused!!!

i think i only got asked on question about mental health.. it was only nursing in general really that they asked!

chillinwitmynomie, i put childrens as 1st but questions were all general nursing q's! my friend got asked if she'd be willin to accept adult if she didn't get childrens, but i never!!

wish i had've put adult down first though!! fingers xd we don't have too long to wait to find out, june'll be here b4 we know it!!!

I got an interview for midwifery really dreading it so nervous

hey vicky, congrats on the interview!!!!!
Im currently doing a 1 year access course and won't have my results til end of june, had applied for both adult nursing and midwifery and had my nursing interview at start of march, got a letter this morning to say they cannot consider me for a midwifery interview at the minute as my results are still pending...all the girls from my class got the same letter! Sort of makes me wonder why they even bother letting people apply who don't have their final grades yet, just wanted to check do you already have ur grades or are you waiting for them?

Hey lilsue 79 and bronte13,

They never asked me either if id accept adult if i didn't get childrens!! They only said to me in the interview that they see i put childens first and i just explained to them that i adored working with children and it had been my main experience working in that field for 9 years!! The more and more speak to others the more i get nervous that i haven't got a place!! I asked in the interview when we would here and they said middle to end of june!! I just wish i was june already so i have peace of mind!!

chillinwitmynomie, i'm sure you'll be grand, if you have all the quals and years of experience you'll be dead on! only child experience i have is my own kids!!!
i read thru last years posts and from last interview to first acceptance post was about 3-4weeks so i'm hoping the end of may!!! dont think could wait til june!!! :frown:

think they say june so people dont fone every day!! but that said think they had record number of applicants this year. i too applied for midwifery and had pendin so got turned down! fingers xd for nursing!!!

you got 74% thats fantastic!! noway am I going to get that...exams start tomorrow and i'll be surprised i even pass at all! i def want to be a midwife no matter what ...hopefully get into nursing and go that route then do the 18mth course afterwards, its gonna take longer than i'd hoped but it'll be worth it in the end!

hey,
yeah thats the way they usually allocate places...most other years u have to have results before they can offer interview, this year we were allowed to apply while waiting for our results but the letter did say they had loads of applicants and the only way they could shortlist was to give the interviews to people who already have their grades...which is only fair! fingers crossed for nursing though!
