Nursing at Queens...

hey pretty girls10, im not sure bout ref's but i remember someone saying its one of the 1st things they check out cause theres no point progressing to occ health and uniforms if ref's dont check out. I have a friend just finishing 2nd yr so il ask her if she remembers......i think i read it in posts on here from earlier last year.

thanks Kat33 just phoned there and they told me I wouldn't need to verify them. The letter wasn't clear so glad I checked! I got a conditional offer for Adult Nursing (Feb intake). Which branch on you on reserve for?

Rosie, I'm on reserve for children's branch, sept. Not holding out much hope though considering the huge number of people on reserve list this year!! But you never know.

They check ur references first. Once they have looked at the written one's they will contact your boss/tutor if for clarification - if required. It seems that those who have been called for occ health interviews did not recieve the letter about the info day. So you may find you will get it if you get clearence to practice. It is a really strange set up, I got one and im on reserve, however, i know many who didn't and some conditionals who didn't get it either. I have read between the lines again for this one! I mean why are they asking reserves when some conditionals didn't get it?? They are waiting to see if occ health gives clearence before sending it out me thinks!!

Hi...I dont know what the reason for info day letters is but I have not received one either....I also have a few friends that have conditional offers and have not been called for occ health and have also not received the info day letter ....dont know what thats about :confused:

........I had my occ health during the week and the woman told me that I was fit to proceed...she said that i would soon hear about bursaries etc.....although im still waiting on access ni and i know of some people that paid for it after me and have received theirs...more confusion... :confused:

....might ring on mon to find out whats goin on about info day and access ni....

I know what u mean, but they are clearly waiting on something ie references, police checks or results. It quite clearly states in the letter - (Staring a university course can be an exciting time but it can bring with it some anxiety, for that reason I would like to invite you to an information and getting to know you event.) Reading that, it seems that it is very much aimed to those who will be STARTING this year. I am on reserve and i received mine last week 30th of June. Personally I have a place at UU which has been confirmed so I am sorted either way, however, there is a reason behind why a reserve offer candidate received one and conditionals haven't!! The only other thing I can think it might be is if the references they have obtained for some ppl are not up to scratch of something? but I really can't get it at all.

hey guys, i got conditional offer for adult/sept and i didnt get called for occ health plus i didnt receive a letter for info day!!! Its a bit of a crazy set up and i dont know about any1 else but my nerves are wrecked....seems like its a waiting game for every1 in one way or another!

Hey Tricia99..Im jus gona ring and ask bout letters..We were told at the queens interview workshop day that there would be an open day in June.....I presume that this is it and it had to be put back a bit due to the large number of interviews and all.... :smile:

I have a conditional offer for sept an didn receive a letter for info day, but I dont think it means those who hav conditional offers and didn receive the letter are'nt starting, a conditional offer letter is a bit more important than a letter about an info day plus I verified my results an the girl forgot 2 copy my birth cert an they were straight on fone the nxt day askin me 2 bring it down, I also havent been asked for an occ an girl on fone said I didn need 1 only sme people get them and my references are fine an my enhanced disclosure is fine, I wud say its the organisation, sure sme people didn receive the email about the offers either...Mayb they sent the letter 2 every1 but jus sme people havent received 1, can't see it bein anything 2 do with if u get in or not though!

Yeah Pretty Girls10...as you say not everyone received e mail about offers...its got nothing to do with whether you get in or not....im just waiting on access ni now....has everyone else got theirs yet??? I paid for mine on 14th June and still no word....

Hi Cazalou, I got my access ni on fri, paid for it on 1st of june so id say ul get it this wk or nxt, when I sent away the 1 for wrk it took well ovr 8 wks 2 cme back...even though uve nothin 2 worry about u still be nervous lol....
