Nursing at Queens...

lol....i know quite a few people that got conditional offers....no health checks and didnt get the info day letter....all i am waitin on is access ni and then im in because i have met all criteria...and i know i have no criminal record......but as i have said before...i shall be ringing queens to ask why i never received a letter... :smile:

Yeah u shoud ring and see what they tell u. The girl at queens told me that those who were ment to get them got them and that they use reserve every year and that results day changes everything. The only thing i can think of is, maybe only the top reserves got them because of this fact?? and the conditionals will receive one at a later date for a different date?

If you look back on this thread around page 13/14....there is mention of last years open day. One girl got a call about the open day...and doesnt seem to have received a letter.....

i have a conditional offer and I got the letter about info day (i'm mental health) and have an occ health check, my friend who also is a conditional for adult didnt get the letter nor has to have the occ health check, but she says she is going to go with me anyway. Maybe it has something to do with the branch of nursing? or maybe only people who are having the occ health check have the info day? I'm worried incase it is another check or hurdle that I have to pass to get in. I just won't settle in my head till I know for def I realy and truely have a place. I know I have the grades but I am worried that some thing will come up at the health check or on the info day and then they will say sorry, but you havent a place.

I had a occ health check Sabababs1 and I didnt get info letter...i suppose the office is closed for a few days now...so wont know what its all about til they back in..

Hi all, I really dont think its anything to worry about, it says clearly on the conditional offer letter the criteria we have to meet to get our place and an info day is'nt mentioned, I think they hav maybe jus asked so many people from each branch to the info day, but its nothing to do with ur place, so dont worry :smile:

Hey, not sure why some of us arent getting the letters, I got conditional offer for childrens and didnt get a letter, the only reason I can think off is that ive already been to uni (?), who knows, but havin the conditional offer in black and white is good enough for me, am certain they wouldnt withdraw that without notice, and i definately comfirmed my place through email. Im with pretty girls10, dont think we should worry

I got a letter about the info day. I have a conditional offer for mental health. Dont understand why some got letters and some didnt. Getting paranoid that maybe they want to meet some of us to make sure we deserve a place or are suitable etc. Think that maybe im panicking but wont relax until i recieve an acceptance letter or something like that. :confused:

I really dont know why some only got them. As i say the girl at Queens told me that those who were meant to get - got. I asked her was it because ppl didn't accept their place etc, she said no it was because results day changes everything and they use the reserve list every year! Im on reserve for Mental Health, but that does not tell us why some conditionals got them??? She did'nt seem to want to tell me much more. Why would they invite reserves to such an event and then turn round and say - ur not getting in?? I think that would be very harsh, considering they way the letter is worded (Starting a University course). I think they know that some may get a place following results, and everyone who got a conditional/reserve had to confirm their place by the 25th of June so some on reserve may already have moved up the ladder, if some didnt accept - which was 155ppl in total.

I haven't received any letter re info day but then I don't start until Feb - perhaps there will be another info day later on in the year?? I wouldn't worry if you haven't received an occ health letter - that's a good sign!!!

hey i got the info day letter,, but i dont think its to people on the reserve who could get a place, im waiting on alevel results on 19th aug and 4 al they no i could fail all 3 lol from the looks of it, it looks like its mainly mental and adult who have got called along to it, mayb childrens and disability could be a diff day.. but it al seems so strange :s-smilie:

the woman from queens sayn those who were to get - got? i really dont understand but im not going to read much into it.

I have my occ health tomorrow my skin has nearly cleared up :smile:

which I'm over the moon about and also have a letter from my dermotologist so fingers crossed!!

I'm exacatly the same sabsbabs1, it feels like another hurdle we have to get over! ( hopefully it's the last one). I feel like I've worked so hard to get to this point and I really hope I don't fall at the last hurdle! I won't settle until tomorrow when it's done! Was talking to my friend who's I'm her first year of adult nursing and she said they just look at your complaint,ask questions about it and your general health!! She just said agree with everything lol good luck for tomorrow and let me know how it goes. :smile:
