Hey everyone can't wait to get started now also a bit apprehensive it's so scary eek! Does anyone know what is happening the week before we start at our induction week? It's just a very close friend off mine is getting married on the 10th September and don't want to miss the wedding!

if you check through, i remember september/ october time posting the induction week timetable for my intake. The 10th is a friday? you shouldn't miss too much, you do very little... Enjoy the wedding

Hey guys, according to my friend whos going into 3rd yr the induction week she had included uniform fitting, meeting your personal tutor, attending occ health for 1st of jabs needed, sitting in on a lecture and doing a basic numeracy test. But like I said that was 2yrs ago so it may have changed. She doesnt remember clearly the hours but said her uniform fitting was between 4-5pm. I guess we wont know anything for definate until we get there ourselves.....roll on Sept....
our uniform fitting last year was tuesday 8th september... the same day we registered, not during induction week... xx

My letter with my conditional offer said start date is Mon 13th Sept but please note enrolment for this programme will take place week commencing Mon 6th Sept? Guess we will all find out soon enough. xx

Best of luck to everyone awaiting results :smile:
Your induction week is definitely w/c 13/9

Uniform and registration will happen the week before this

You'll be in uni from the 13/9 for 7 weeks before having your first placements w/c 01/11 lasting 6 weeks before having 3 weeks of xmas holidays.

Hope this helps

All the best of luck for people waiting to hear:smile:

when I was up on the info day, the lady implied that not everyone will be offered a place on the 24th but that from the 24th aug onwards and right up to the 13th sept they make the offers.

yeah i member but will those who are rejected get a phonecall or letter do u think

I think it might be a letter bronte but im not sure its just a feeling x
I know that a few people from my tutorial group were borderline and some didn't find out for definite until about 4 days before the commencement of the course.

I thiiiink they offer the reserve places by phonecall as a priority and then after that letters of rejection begin to be distributed....Really just going to be a waiting game for some people as unfortunate as that is:s-smilie:

Louise, at the minute i am really looking forward to get back, as nerdy as that sounds; but i know by week 2 i'll be countin the days till christmas lol...no doubt sick of the phrase evidence based practice blah blah
I think I remember the lady asking to make sure that we had given Queens our correct (or up to date) contact details. I suppose if people are in doubt they could double check with Queens that they have our correct moblie and home phone numbers.

You could def apply with your BBC in childcare and Education, this is the minium grade required (plus GCSE maths). But the competion is feirce and both nursing and midwifery require you to pass an interveiw. Its not just a case of having the grades to get in, they also need to see that you have the personal qaulities as well. If it is what you want to do, then def apply both courses are direct application, and dont use any of your UCAS places, so you could also apply to the University of Ulster (though it doesnt do midwifery) and other courses. Good Luck.
