hii could someone help me answer this q pls

Oxides of nitrogen are atmospheric pollutants which are formed in car engines.
Explain why oxides of nitrogen are formed in car engines.

Around 79% of our atmosphere is Nitrogen, when exposed to the high temperature generated by the engine, forms NO. Some NO is further oxidised into NO2. Hence NOx = NO + NO2

It's more the sparks used to ignite the petrol/air mix...

These are like tiny bolts of lightning and fuse together the nitrogen and oxygen molecules.
