I am currently in year 12 and looking for work experience this summer-any tips/ideas how to get the attention of law firms? Anywhere specific to apply that is known for this type of thing? The chances of them offering it?

First you might want to check at the firms’ websites, the ones that you’re interested in. There’s regional firms and London ones.

For some London ones, they might have specific schemes for year 12s/13s? Might be conditional in terms of socio-economic background, etc.

For regional ones, you can write e-mails to them (the firm) asking if they are able to provide an internship.

I’ve known some friends that contacted to a lawyer directly before, some had relatives there, etc. but there’s no need for this unless you don’t mind asking some people. LinkedIn is a good place to see who’s willing, surprisingly there is a lot but not sure if it would be counted as a formal ‘recorded’ internship.

You might want to ask if they can provide references at the end of the internship, should you get any. Serves as proof that you did your internship.

highly unlikely anyone's gonna offer it. bigger firms have finished their app processes. smaller firms are still WFH for the most part.
