Southampton Uni chat thread

Ok guys, I need some advice. So let's say, hypothetically, you stay at a guy/girl's house almost every night, and you're really close. Then let's say one night you get to sleep at around 2am, as normal, and then s/he gets a text halfway through the night. You see who it's from - his/her ex of 4 years that he/she split up with just before Uni. You already feel uncomfortable as you know they don't speak much so clearly something is up. All night your respective other half is tossing and turning. Then they get out of bed at 6.30. They go and sit in the kitchen for 15 minutes. Then they switch on the computer (which has a very loud volume thingy!!). And when you ask what's up, they say "******* nothing". You sit there for a while. Then you get up and say "you know what, i'll leave you to work out whatever you have to work out" and they just grunt at you. So you leave.
Now I know that I can think a bit too much, but does anyone else think that this is odd behaviour?
I now feel a bit ******.
And i've watched every episode of Come Dine With Me so I have nothing to do.

Uhhh I think you have the right to be annoyed.

I mean he can't help it if she texts him but if he know you saw who it was from, and if you asked he could've told you, well not the whole text but something like 'Oh its just from my ex, she's a bit down but its unfair of her to text me 'cause I don't feel that way about her anymore'.

Not that he'd do that 'cause he's a boy. But still you deserve an explanation, and if he's not going to be open and explain he could at least be polite and not let you feel awkward.

I feel **** about guys in general tbh.

Although Jonny laid on the floor outside my window at 2am last night, spread eagled singing 'mandy you came and you gave without taking' but with my name. At least JTM loves me lol.

Sorry to hear about that.

My night was far too long...went to a third-year's house party and now they have a 20 minute video of me with my head over the toilet bowl with my trousers round my ankles [thankfully my boxers were still on...]
I literally just walked back from Portswood now in a rather hanging state...

I know it's not all guys that are like that haha. Just luck of the draw I guess... And the fact that a lot of us girlies seem to like a guy that treats us like ******* ****. Wooo.

I just don't know what to do. I think it was so unfair of him this morning, and I just wanna tell him to forget it all because I can't be bothered feeling like this all the time. But then it's not all the time, it's just like 20% of the time, and they rest it's perfect. So I don't know what to do.

I guess you just have to think, do you want to be with somebody who makes you happy and wants you to feel comfortable and would go out of their way to make you feel ok 'cause they care about you.

Or with somebody that makes you feel constantly uneasy and nervous and unsure? 'cause I'm pretty sure the latter isn't what being with somebody is about.

Life is too short to hang around with people who are reckless with your feelings! Even if the game is fun and we thrive on the drama!

I had a revelation tuther day and I decided to stop seeing the certain guy you know who 'cause I just realised it really wasn't any good for me and I was just giving up everything on a plate for just scraps back, even if it was good some of the time, it wasn't all of the timeeee.

I am in the library. So so so so so bored and dull and stuck on my essay :frown:

Well yeah I think, tis a very long story, I will have to expain it to you. But I am well annoyed 'cause I was doing really well at not contacting him and ignoring his texts and being offish, then I text him when I was drunk and he didn't reply so now I am the one being ignored and me winning the game is over! If you get what I mean lol.

Just think, you deserve to be with someone who knows they want to date you, who wants everybody to know your'e their girlfriend, who wants to make you happy and makes you feel good all the time, not ****** and confused! Life is toooo short, you only live once! Spend it with people who make you happy and give back what you give to them. Listen to dont let me stop you lol.

Ah I am in such a bitter mood this week lol!

At the end of the day Clo, it's whether or not you think the relationship is worth pursuing. If you are sure he loves you, and you love him, then there shouldn't be a problem =]

OMG the text thing is so true. I'm like 'mwa hahaha go me, 4 days without texting or replying, I am queeeen of the world'

Then 'ohh I am drunk just one normal non weird text'

five minutes later

'why the hell hasnt he replied'

the next morning, still no reply.

'what the hell, why did I send him a text, why do I have no will power, what the hell is wrong with me, now I have lost the control, AAAAAHHH'
