A long shot but anyone know what the postgrad events/scene is like i.e is there one? lol.
My uni where i did my undergrad was hopeless in organising anything especially after freshers. I'm thinking of coming to Soton as a postgrrd and hoping that there are regular events etc on.

p.s is there something like a IMS league for football etc at Soton where departments/halls compete.

Not sure about the first part of your question, but yes there is a huge set of intramural leagues at Soton, at least one team for each halls [most have 2 or 3] and at least one team for each department of the university [again some have 2 or 3]

Never been so tired in my life, I have the shakes! When I was 14/15 I would never be up at 6am! Some of these girls are mental, 6am!!!!

Does that make sense?! Don't get me wrong, I love Sheffield and my family and my friends and my work... but at the same time I realise it was the right time for me to go!

Don't worry Chlo, I feel like it every time I come back too :smile:
It's kind of surreal being back at home because you notice subtle changes far more easily than you would have done if you were living there the whole time, and you notice the behaviour and characteristics of your family and friends far more easily.

I'm headed up to Oxford in a couple of weeks to see one of my flatmates so that will be jolly exciting indeed =D

Ah Marcus I woke up at 6am but I'd gone to bed at 4am and was only sleeping lightly incase some rogue 14 year olds escapeeeeeeeed.

I know what you mean a bit Chlo, especially with certain guys and stuff... It's nice having two cities to live 'cause you can escape between them!

I went to the one in Southampton too :p: - I'm not just in Reading for Shakeaway - Lozz lives here, and needed to dump stuff. We're going back to Southampton in a couple of hours, and then on to Lincoln on Monday! Wooooooooooop!

I completely understand what you mean. When I go back to Lincoln now, it feels more like I'm on holiday...and the fact that it's so far away from Southampton just emphasises that...

Shakeaway. is. amazing. Basically, it's a milkshake shop, except it doesn't just offer normal milkshake flavours, like strawberry etc., you can choose like ANY chocolate bar, or ANY biscuit, or ANY sweet and have it blended up into a milkshake. Which means you can have like a Jammy Dodger Milkshake, or an Oreo Milkshake; and you can mix loads of them together if you want. Someone yesterday had a refreshers and Terry's Chocolate Orange Milkshake.

Although, i just wanted a cherry one yesterday, and I was conned into having it with lovehearts. I've never felt so sick in all my life.

Everyone was amazed that I'd never heard of Shakeaway, but the furthest north they have one is OXFORD! And that's clearly pretty southern still. They have them in Bath, Bristol, Southampton...most of the main southern cities. And the one in Southampton is in Bargate. Defo go go go.

Wow, I just spoke for three paragraphs about a milkshake shop. Time to get a life, methinks :w00t:
