Yeah. I am based in NOC for my degree and we have quite a few Oxbridge graudates who come to us for PhDs... we're really up there for the research side.

To be fair though, in the last few years we have dropped like a lead balloon on a lot of the university tables
We did well last year... 13th isn't too shabby at all. Can't believe they've dropped down to 17 or 19 or wherever we are now.

Hi there! Finally, i've met all the conditions and i'm practically on my way to Southampton :X i'm so excited but nervous in the same time :-s. I've no idea about how it'll be and all the things that are going to happen there ... i'm from Romania so i'm entering a whole new and unknown universe :biggrin: hope it'll turn out great!

I'm going to study Computer Science :biggrin: any advice? does anybody know how it is going to be? :biggrin:
Yahuh you guys are right, I've found most people don't know how good So'ton is unless they study there, considered studying there or know someone that studies there.
Just say Russell Group. That always impresses them. :smile:
True! Though thinking about it the judgement of random customers over their teacakes is not a particularly important thing :h:

I'm paying a fleeting one-night visit to Southampton on Tuesday if anyone's about - all the Maths losers are graduating and I have the day off so I'm going to see my new house! :h:
I've been in Southampton for ages but all my coursemates are graduating on Tuesday so it's party o'clock in the evening. I'm going home on Friday too which is a welcome relief to be honest... I'm a little bit fed up on kicking around down here on my own.
I have an internship in the Geography dept so am working 9-5 and living on my own coz all my housemates are at 'home'. So I'm bored out my brains! if anyone wants to meet up, just get in touch x

I want to be in Southampton! Worried about my house as well, letting agents are being very unhelpful and uncommunicative, grr.
Anyone know how I can be a moving in helper for the moving in weekend? Thought I might as well volunteer as I've got to be around for freshers anyway.

Think you might be too late to be paid, but get in touch with the CU or any halls/JCR and they'll probably snap you up! :biggrin:

Student ambassadors have been emailed out about it. I'm not sure if they're opening it up to others too. Anyway, you don't really want to do it - it's hellishly hard work!
