Hey guys, can I butt in? I'm coming to the uni this year. Sorry if this has already been asked but which Fresher's events would you recommend? I'm not really into clubbing (because I'm just that cool :cool:

) but I don't want to miss out if there's anything amazing on! Also, is the Fresher's ball worth it?

Erm the Fresher's ball was pretty crap last year, who's playing this year? Then again most people go so there is the argument that its better to go anyway so you spend more time with your flatmates etc. Definitely get the JCR pass for whatever halls you are in, if you are in halls of course, as the JCR events were some of my best times in Freshers, thats where I met a lot of the people I'm good friends with now from Monte.

I would recommend getting the ball ticket.. You can always sell it on if you don't want to go when the time comes! It would be rubbish if all the people you live with are going and you aren't.. Plus, it was personally one of my favourite nights at Freshers!

How do you know that you have a lecture on the 30th? (I can't seem to work out how to get the specific dates..)

I got told by my lecturer (via email) that I have a pre-fieldtrip briefing. Unless you get told otherwise lectures begin on 3rd October (week 1 on your timetable).
