I've not really been paying attention to them and so I thought they had something to do with some form of construction or something.

iIm sorry, but in reference to the advert on the bottom right of TSR right now, I would never go to a uni where the person advertising it was wearing a gillet. No offence intended.
I was in the Library and started looking around. Everyone seems to wear Jack Willis, Hollister or A&F...

That stuff is ubiquitous around Campus. Has no one ever heard of any other brands?

Welcome to Uni, basically. :colonhash:

I possess no clothes by any of the above.

I have one Superdry coat, thought that's not even at Uni with me - do almost all of my clothes shopping from ASOS/River island.

I don't see why people don't go shopping at Armani. It's marginally cheaper than Superdry but looks much better!

I got a whole outfit for £69 and looks so much better than the hollister crap that people wear  .

I'm surprised the lecturers don't wear those brands tbh considering there's a Hollister shop at Westquay now.

River Island is terrible. Don't you mean republic?

I don't go to River Island often but they have some nice stuff in there, almost always have a look at least, same goes for Topman!

Never shopped in Republic, been in Fat Face and USC once each.

When I was younger I used to shop in Moss Bros. in Exeter, they had some awesome stuff. :coma:

Anyone who knows me knows when I came to Uni I had absolutely no idea about fashion. :p:

Some would say I still don't. :colondollar:
I usually buy my clothes at TK Maxx now...

we were a lot nicer last year, right? :h:
I quite like this year's Freshers.

Just went to play poker with one of the flats in Selborne. :teeth:
The GerSoc freshers are hilarious. At the social last week we actually had all of them singing "I'm GerSoc til I die" at the top of their voices

Can someone give me 10 reasons why I should choose Southampton as my top choice over Sheffield? I'm picking an Engineering course, if that matters. (Bias comments are fine, I just want to know some positives )
Jesters.

You only need one reason. :p:
1. Isn't Southampton really good for Engineering? My uncle is a fellow or something and whenever I see him he goes on for ages about how good it is, but then again he would be biased.

2.Jesters

3. Nice city, not too big not too small.

4. Reasonably cheap to live in

5. Lovely campus in general (maths building not so much!)

6. SU is pretty good, lots of stuff going on.

7.Good choice of accomodation, good mix of what's on offer and good price range.

8. Southampton very focused on Graduate Recruitment (compared to Cardiff certaintly, whenever I see my brother he raids the Soton Graduate Recruitment site as most unis have nothing nearly so good).

9. Sports are pretty good here.

10. Ditto societies, there's a society for pretty much everything, and if there isn't you can start your own soc very easily.

11. Jesters.

This all said without any idea of what Sheffield offers btw, didn't look at the uni there.

yeah, the maths building is a bit of monstrosity. thankfully once you're inside you can't see the exterior!
