Revision is making me :cry2:

Revision?

I'm not likely to even be able to start that for a good week as these assignments aren't getting anywhere fast - especially after working all of Xmas and New Year has lost any motivation I had. :colonhash:
I don't have any revision to do (yay!) but I do have a 5000 word assignment to do for mid Jan and I want to get it out of the way as soon as possible so I can get started on writing my dissertation as soon as poss... 16000 words is gonna hurt.
I've only done a couple of structural changes to my (half-)dissertation so far, I've got a chapter, abstract and intro to write and a series of graphs to add in when I return to Soton though.

I have a 3,000 word assignment that I've barely started, and another 7,000 word assignment that I'm about half-way through.

Add to that the three problem sheets that I'm still yet to start, revision for my exam and writing a presentation and I'm looking at a hectic week, especially as I've only got two days off work. :erm:
Being a 4th year sucks doesn't it?
The amount of people on Facebook going 'OMG why is Blackboard down???' is just embarrassing. How much notice were we given?! Jesus Christ

I haven't seen any of that. Although I have found I need a journal article while it's down. FML

Ouch. I've wondered something as well, why is my house in Southampton always cold? My parents have the heating on from 7-9 in the morning and they've both left for work by 9:30. I've never felt cold enough to turn the heating on during the day or night. I usually wear t-shirts around the house as well. Yet at Soton, aside from one bedroom, it's so cold! Poor insulation in the house?
I'm just looking for accommodation next year.... My parents want me to have my own flat, which on reflection doesn't bother me too much because I'm not enjoying halls that much (too much noise!)... Just wondering if anyone knew about students living down Winn/Westwood Road? There are some nice places down there but I don't really want to move in somewhere that's just going to be one big party all over again.

Check your radiators don't need bleeding, I discovered too late that the reason my room is permanently FREEZING, even when the heating is on, is because only the bottom of my radiator actually heats up. Task no.1 for my return: figure out how to bleed a radiator.

Also yeah probs insulation.

You must need... a radiator key! But seriously, it's not that hard - http://www.uswitch.com/heating/how-to-bleed-a-radiator/
Haha yeah I know it's not too hard, I used to watch my dad do it when I was a kid. The main obstacle will be getting at my radiator in the first place come to think of it.

Could be the problem, but the whole radiator seems warm enough when I touch it. The only time I turn the heating on normally is before I go to bed for 45 minutes, and I sleep diagonally so my feet are on top of the radiator xD Speaking of which, how much do you guys pay for gas and electric? I feel I'm being ripped off; when the first bill came in early November it was £160 for the four of us?! Bearing in mind we had only just started to use the heating about a week before the bill came...
We pay direct debit monthly which averages the cost over the year. We pay £18 a month each (4 of us) but we are quite a large amount over so we'll get money back when we move out.

Westwood Road is near Alma road and Gordon Avenue which is where a lot of my current flatmates are moving to (they are party animals  ). It's a popular place for students with Sobar 10 minutes away along with the Gordon Arms being just around the corner, not to mention blockbusters and Waitrose being near.

If you want to look for a 1 bed apartment, I know there's quite a few apartments (not sure if they're 1 bed or not) next to the new Sainsburys being built on portswood road (SO17 2TD if I remember correctly on rightmove.co.uk). I was originally going to move there with a few friends, but the rent was quite expensive and SF wouldn't cover it so I convinced them to get something cheaper.

Haha the radiator key! Michael Mcintyre going on about radiator keys is one of the funniest things i've watched

Finally got round to starting revision earlier this week and I'm really ****ed! I could answer 3/4 questions in past papers prior to 2009, but the 2010 and 2011 papers were on a new form of difficulty and well I couldn't answer anything :frown: I may need to ask the lecturer what level of difficulty the paper would be. On a better note, I seem to be doing really well in Maths  Maybe I should have taken that instead of engineering.

Oh, and Happy New Year guys! I'm sure it's a significant year for a lot of you seeing as you all seem to be on your ways to graduating this summer

Graduations are 19 - 20 & 23 - 26 July... not sure on grad ball yet - I don't think it's been announced.
I don't really want my graduation to be on the 26th cos that's my mum's birthday.

Grad ball won't be announced until they started getting venues/acts sorted for it.
My school always has the first grad service of the day... you have to be robing at 8am. Ugh.
