Hello

Noticed your kind Hello went somewhat unnoticed, so I thought I'd say hello back, Hi !

Back to moaning for me. I seriously wish I picked Maths over engineering! Maths is the only thing I understand in this course, I understand hardly any of the theory so i'm back to A Level tactics and trying to memorise everything word for word! I don't know what I'm going to do for the second year! Maybe get 95%+ in mechanics and maths and get 50% in everything else which should give me a 2:1 hopefully! How I wish I attended all the tutorials! I guess that's my new years resolution - to actually study and seek help for semester 2 :frown:

Guys is there anyone staying in Beechmount House? I have an offer from the uni. for there, and I am asking is it a nice place to stay? I've got a week to answer this offer. So, please be hurry
Thanks for the kind hello replies

'nam is good. It's my day off tomorrow, going roller skating with some kids from the charity shelter and then to a hugeeeee water park in the afternoon then for dinner at a 5* hotel to celebrate being paid. Living the life! Also bought some amazzzzzzzzzing hammocks for one of our roof terraces, literally the comfiest thing ever. Anddd found a massage place for 60,000 dong! £2 for an hour body massage (nope, not dodgy!), it's like heaven.

Still miss good old rainy Southampton and everyone though!
Although can't get on facebook here which is causing me much more bother than it should!
oh oh oh and I went to a cat shelter to enquire about adopting a kitten  Rooms full of cute kittens playing. You should've seen how happy I was!
That sounds amazing!!
OMG! You're literally living the life in Vietnam! I can't believe it's that cheap especially considering they have a 200% import tax (probably has changed now).

Cats are amazing, just don't get an indoor cat, I have one and he literally messes up the home! When they're older they calm down.
Just sorting out my accommodation for next year - I notice the autumn term starts on the 27th September which is a Thursday. Do you actually do anything on the Thursday/Friday of that week because I'm thinking of renting the place from the following Monday (1st October)?
It's usually induction from your school if you're a first year, if you're a returning student then you don't usually do anything then.
It's freshers' week, so it's pretty fun if that's your scene (I loved it in second year!).

Hello Emma!! Glad to hear you're enjoying life in the old HCM! Very jealous of you living abroad - how I miss it so! (Although I do have a job for next year lined up and it's not in this rotten country, but it's not as exotic as the far east... )

Having trouble staying focused on revision so thought I'd say hi :P

Ditto.. And my body clock has gone to ****! So hi too

In other news, Emma, glad you're having lots and lots of fun!

Jokes that you called it 'nam, pahahaha. <3

Everyone else; good luck with exams and assignments!

I'm exam-less, but got so many assignments.. I kind of think that's more of an effort. But i'm obviously biased haha. Then it is SUSU election time - scary!
**** exams start in 3 days, so not ready for this :frown:
Oh yay, susu election time. Something that completely passes the NOC behind except when you get the same person interrupt your lecture 3 times. Grr.

First year of the Maths degree is fine. :holmes:

A lot of people are only here to pass so half the marks will get bumped up anyway - first semester of first year has provided my best (average) marks thus far. :yy:

My (only) exam is on Monday morning and I've not had a chance to start revising for it yet with these other assignments.

2 down, 4 to go, though I'm working on my dissi today and hoping to start revision later tonight. :erm:
My project keeps distracting me from this sizeable essay I have to write... it's due in a week on monday.

Fair enough. The course content doesn't seem too bad, it just seems like there is a ton of it to remember - hopefully nothing a few all-nighters can't solve

If it helps, the Differential Equations and Calculus I exams are definitely the two easiest.

Number Theory + Cryptography is deceptive - at least it was for me because I walked out of the exam after 50 minutes having checked my paper twice and thought it was easy - still got a good mark but not as high as I'd thought.

Linear Algebra I is definitely the hardest for people who haven't done Further Maths A-Level - luckily I had so it was alright. :h:
