How is it that elections week has completely passed me by so far? I went to campus and didn't get accosted by lots of people, I haven't had my facebook covered in groups etc... It's very odd.
Lucky you. We had some people come into Connaught and try and campaign to me while I was eating. Mind you other than that I've only had a random girl scream at me to vote for someone while I was walking to Avenue.

That's incredibly lucky . We've had 5 people knock on our flat in Monte already today and it's annoying! I answered it once and as I don't like to simply say 'go away' the time they spent talking was enough time for my food to be burnt in the oven
As for facebook, well Cloop is the only one who has posted on any of the groups i'm part of. Last year I had to come down for the Southampton open/interview/show off the uni day and it was election week. That seemed so much more hectic on campus than this week.
Well the voting doesn't open until Monday at 1pm, so it'll be a whole lot more hectic then.
Last year I was on campus every day at 8am and there would be candidates meeting up to get coffee then - on Friday I turned up at half 9 and there were about 3 people around.
I'm already more tired from campaigning this time round though I think - had 6 hours sleep over the last 2 nights plus football today so I'm not feeling too fresh for Portswood tonight!
I'm loving elections so far! Wish I was out tonight, instead I am spending the next 24 hours reading a German book about eating mussels. The first paragraph is 17 pages long!!

Oooh, which groups are these?
I'm going to apologise in advance - I think I will be doing Monte for a bit on Monday. The trouble is, we KNOW it's annoying, but if we don't do it, it's like neglecting 1700 students.. Asking to lose really!

Unless you want to spread the love yourselves
The Monti freshers group which everyone just uses now to advertise or sell stuff like tickets.
Why don't you stick posters onto the back or side of every unilink bus? That way when the bus is stopped at the interchange or Monte bus stop people are bound to look whilst waiting ti get on... Alternatively sit outside Monte or at the interchange with an internet connected laptop and simply say 'free food if you vote for me' and give them a lolly or something for doing so.

But yeh, good luck for the election!
We're not allowed to offer bribes haha, so can't do the free food thing i'm afraid
And they'll get taken off of the buses but.. I'm coming to halls to put posters up tomorrow anyway!

Thank you for the luck
I think there is a way you can get posters put up in unilink buses... I seem to remember that when I was doing publicity for a concert a few years back - I think you just need to contact unilink.

Remember to play on the fact that you're former JCR pres at monte cloop!! you'd be surprised how those sorts of things might have an effect on your voters - for example, my friend and I are only voting because we have a friend running for a position...so essentially anyone running for any other position will only get my vote based on arbitrary factors such as their campaign slogan or their name. I'm sure there's many the same - it's a good job your slogan's memorable!!
VP Comms is basically controlling all the communications from the SUSU to the students.. Through the web, media departments, promo stuff.. Etc. They are also responsible for the democratic side of the union, and making sure the constitution is transparent, so everyone knows what's going on!
It's quite a big job, but exciting
JTM, I know, I should have mentioned it in the debates haha! But, it's on the Wessex Scene article, so hopefully.. xx
My friends arriving from Camarthen tomorrow, I haven't really warned her about the whole dressing up in yellow and accosting people on the concourse thing yet.
