My summary of Grad Ball, of the acts I saw:

- I was very, very impressed by High On Heels. Really entertaining, great voices and range of music styles generated an almost carnival-esque atmosphere.

- Pixie Lott was a bit underwhelming to start with, although she built it up well and did some great covers (Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Forget You and I'll Be There), before typically ending off with All About Tonight. Also did a song or two from her upcoming new album which was pretty cool.

- Chesney Hawkes was a proper entertainer. Brilliant covers intertwined with his more-than-that-one-song before finishing with said song and Sex On Fire as an encore - he was fab.

- Annie Mac DJed brilliantly as expected, although she spoke very little (twice in the whole hour I think?) which I found a tad disappointing.

- Chris Stark I've seen plenty of times before so I kinda knew what to expect, but he was great as ever - even found time between his sets to tweet Beth.

Didn't manage to see Shappi Khorsandi as I was hoping to, though she was scheduled during the second half of Pixie Lott's set which was highly unfortunate.

Think I've had too much Red Bull though, worked out I must have had 7 cans of the stuff, hence why I'm still wide awake and writing this at 6am.

Thanks to Marcus I also went to the grad ball! Despite not graduating for another 2 years technically :getmecoat:

Was so good though! I now have a massive girl crush on Pixie Lott, got (as Marcus can testify) a little over excited when Chris Stark tweeted me and have discovered High on Heels, who were brilliant.

Now to frantically pack for Beach Break Live and drive like the wind home to Wales.
i got in at 6.15 - definitely got my 49 quids worth
not happy about what they did with Shappi though - they put her on half an hour early without any warning!! We rocked up at 11.05 and they were like "yeah, she finished 10 minutes ago".
We saw her by accident... she was quite amusing but not outrageously good. Saying that, I've not found that I particularly enjoy her act generally so make of that what you will. I think the reason she was on so early was because there was meant to be this guy doing a full set at the start but he came on and was absolutely terrible... I think he expected to get the attention of the whole room or something and kept on shouting 'who gives a ****?'... he might have been good if he actually made any jokes but he didn't so I think he got taken off. So many people left during the first 5 minutes of his set. He was pretty much the only bum bit of the whole night for me!
Do people get their results today?

This was posted from The Student Room's Android App on my GT-I9100
I got a first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2.1 here, I was on the borderline but miss out on a first by virtue of only having 10 firsts in modules (as opposed to 12, I had two 69s though). :colonhash:

Averaged 71.2 in my final year though, and got 76 for my final dissertation, so no complaints.
I got a 2:1 too. Well done Jonny and Marcus - great results!
well done guys! out to celebrate tonight?
Congratulations guys!!!

I guess that means you're no longer students :frown:

Clowns + Jesters for me - last night in Southampton (shame it has to be sober) in the place that typifies my time here.
All of my coursemates are going out but I'm so tired... still haven't caught up after going camping for 5 days and straight into the grad ball and having to be up by 9am every day after that. I'm very tempted not to go.. I don't feel particularly welcome with my housemates anyway.
Congrats guys. I've stil got one more year to go....saw alot of people with their results walking around campus today though.
Congrats to all you guys who got your results yesterday and thanks for being there to answer my questions through my first year  Best of luck in the future!

You guys have been so helpful. I'm screwed now. Don't leave the thread!!
I'm moving on to my third year so I'll try my best to help everyone out with questions :P
To be fair, my Freshers Week thread will be mostly relevant for any new people in any year.
