Hey, so I’m starting uni after about 3 years in a biology based subject. I got an A in it at Alevels but I’ve forgotten lots of it obviously. When I try going over it again for uni, it’s as if I know what it is, which I do since it’s somewhere far in my memory, but when I test myself or actively recall, I do terrible. It’s a very discouraging situation which is making me procrastinate any sort of learning or revision.I just zone out or get distracted for no obvious reason.
I mean when I just read it or re read it I just lose focus because I think ‘I know this and what it is’ and that is a barrier in my relearning. Does anyone have any tips as to what approach I should take in this situation?

For chemistry a level although I got a B as well but it’s not that bad and I seem to retain lots of information in it and revise with more motivation
