why is cold ethanol poured over the crystals formed? so both why is it used, and why does it have to be cold? thanks!

not sure why ethanol, iv always seen it to be distilled water and it is used to remove soluble impurities and its cold so it doesnt melt the crystals

oh alright, not sure, the question i’m doing uses ethanol. thank you though!
