“Explain why the membrane potential in an axon is the same when medium or high pressure is applied to the fingertip. [3 marks]”

i’m having a little trouble actually putting together an answer, any help is super appreciated

because the action potential is the same in all membranes. if the stimulus is strong enough then it will cause an action potential. the medium pressure is strong enough to over come the minimum stimulus, so is the high pressure. As long as the stimulus is high enough, it opens the sodium gated channels and the sodium floods into the nerve cell.
