How do you get internships/work experience in Marketing?

Everywhere I look, even for an internship, most companies are already asking for 1 year+ experience which I don't have. Hence the looking for experience in the first place. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Does anybody have any good suggestions for how to get this experience?

How do you write emails enquiring about work experience opportunities?

You write them as a sales pitch explaining who you are, why you'd like to work for the company, and what experience you'd like to gain.

In that order.

Briefly, say in 300 words or less.

Then you include link to your portfolio and some contact information if they'd like to get in touch (most won't; some will).
