£80m for Antony to spin around on the spot :coma:

At least he scores some goals / looks threatening.

What have they done to Sancho?

Winning 2-0 at 80 minutes at the Theatre of Screams.

To then lose the tie 5-3 on aggregate in the Europa League to a Seville side that sit 13th in La Liga

:rofl::dice::rofl::dice:

(...)

Let's ignore the 400mil spent in the last 2 seasons..

United just do United things. I have no words for that downfall too, no one has.

And by the by let us forget that Maguire gave a brilliant performance in both matches in Europa League. His skills are as good as United's investments in the last two seasons.

At least you have something positive to look forward to the end of the season!

Jeez this thread used to be the most popular of all the football threads.

Okay Mason Greenwood knows how to score goals doesn’t mean he’ll return it’ll only cause dressing room unrest and tension, the respect between the manager and players and fans will be lost. Manchester United women’s team will be at uncomfort and also think of branding, sponsorships and potential future investments could that be jeopardised. A Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Gonçalo Ramos, Benjamin Sesko seems wiser. Plus we’ve already got Facundo Pellestri, Amad Diallo and Viva Garnacho Alejandro Garnacho as our next break-through stars.
Not a United fan, but I think the team should try to get Kane to have a good striker who really knows to score a goal, unless it is a penalty. :giggle:

That's a good pitch to get another team to take him on loan for a year

Release him or sell him.
Agree. United has wasted so much money in the past and that would be a good investment this time. Which players should be bought in order to give Kane good assists to score?

You know nothing if your saying Garnacho overrated 6 goals 5 assists in his break through season.

Mad fer it like

Thought Man Utd were completely outplayed by Man City in the FA Cup final.

The penalty Man Utd were gifted by VAR was ridiculous too. Not a penalty and if the rules say it was, the rules are wrong and need fixing.

Also made me laugh that KDB didn't get a penalty which was more of a foul!

Agreed, examples of where rules come really unstuck.

I saw the path United had to the final, all home games against mediocre opposition, aside from Brighton which was 50/50 anyway. Almost the same in the league cup too, made me think it's really not much of an achievement if they won both, since they just had a lucky year with fixtures. That said, definitely a step forward from last season. Let's see if it continues.

I think they can easily point to this season as progress. Won the League Cup, reached FA Cup final, finished 3rd in the league. QF of Europa League but knocked out by eventual winners.

Since they are in the CL, I imagine they will spend big again this summer.

3rd in a year when Chelsea, Liverpool & Spurs all had their worst season in about 8 years
League Cup win, playing garbage along way
FA cup final loss, playing garbage along the way
Various humiliating losses throughout the season
Squad littered with mega-flop signings from Anthony, Sancho, Maguire.
Clown Goal-Keeper
Few genuine world class starts. Rashford is just good and the rest of the squad is painfully average with no obvious low hanging fruit in terms of areas to improve, it could all use an upgrade.

OGS would literally have done that. Ten Haag is a fairly mediocre manager and not exaclty young, he has 10 years in this game now.
So Utd are going absolutely nowhere. Next year, my prediction is 5th or 6th.

I mean it's Man City winning every year anyway and everyone else basically competing for 2nd and downwards.
The history books don't show who you played, just the trophies lifted.
Correction: mega-flop signings on huge money**

Expectations always go up a bit then manager gets sacked and they start the cycle again. They've not really improved in the last decade. Although OGS was a bit unfortunate that the toxic Ronaldo show turned up.

5th is good enough next season as that qualifies you for the CL.

Pretty much. But Utd dont really seem to be "building" anything at all. There is no clear pattern of play which is exciting, no particularly young squad, no manager who can grow into being close to Pep(Ten Hag has been around for a decade achieivng very little in truth), no obvious areas to upgrade(maybe GK but the rest of the team isnt clear). Fairly old squad. The team regularly doesnt turn up for the manager so its not as if they are strong peronsalities either at the group level.

OGS was just average to poor but as you say, he was very unlucky with Ronaldo arriving. He would have got top 4 again, but I struggle to understand why Ten Hag is getting so much credit for what OGS would easily have done. I feel as if this is very much Utd throwing their hands up in the air at it all and the fans seeing an awful lot in Ten Hag which just isnt there. He will never be a top manager will he. Few league cup wins, maybe a Euro run and maximum and I mean maximum 3rd in league. Glory glory man utd?

And before anyone says it, I think Arteta is becomming overrated but we are obviousy on a very strong upwards trajectory with a clear pattern of play, the youngest squad in league and clear areas to improve upon. But I do think we will get maybe 3rd next year (depending on Liverpool basically).

City ruining the game, what a ridiculous apathy we are forced to live in.

I don't think Man Utd are a "building" kind of club. It's all about immediate impact. Why buy a young player who may or may not be great when you can buy Casemiro? Or they spend big on youngsters they feel are low risk (see fee for Martial and Sancho for example).

In fairness, before this season and when Arsenal failed to get 4th last season, some people questioned what Arteta was building. It came together and then the results were impressive this season. Surely ETH deserves more than a season to be judged? There is a lot of rubbish in that squad so takes them to move them on and change the mentality.

Also I presume it's a cursory glance at Man Utd rather than watching every game so maybe Man Utd fans feel differently.
