nothing will happen though this season. Everton are going to make a high demand and we will lose interest and go for another defender

Question for @Zerforax :
Would you pick Salah in the new Fantasy Premier League season?
Will he still get Salah style numbers next season?
Is he likely to leave next season?
If he doesn't leave, will he still be a regular starter at 90 mins each game?

I think the expectation is that he will stay.. maybe a mega Saudi bid would turn heads but Salah will probably decide if he goes this summer for a big fee or just leave on a free in summer 2025 (then he can bank the money himself).

Considering we have a new manager in Slot and Salah seemed off the pace the 2nd half of the season, I probably wouldn't pick Salah. Though I still expect him to start regularly because we dont have many options for the right wing.

But then im awful at Fantasy Football so maybe take my views with a pinch of salt!

Yep. Good thing as well. 2 trophies in 2 years. Injury crisis is over. Licha is looking really good for Argentina. De Ligt is coming home. Need a new left back, midfielder and a striker tho. Hopefully we can get Zirkzee. Amad will be exciting next season as well. Front 3: Garna, Hojlund, Amad with Bruno and Kobbie behind them and Licha and De Ligt in defence 😍😍😍. Surely we bring back 2 trophies at least - Europa League and FA Cup with maybe even a Carabou Cup and a top 4 finish. Team is going in right direction
Ratcliffe has defo changed something at Man Utd. Previously, we would have bought Branthwaite for 80 mil, now, we waited, said no because they valued him too high, and instead settled with a much cheaper, and much better option of De Ligt. Times are looking good for us.

Well the new owners only gave Ten Hag an extra year. It was clear they had conversations with other managers recently so I don't think it's a vote of confidence at all. Both sides just buying time - Ten Hag to fight for his future and the new owners a bit more time to find a new manager to bring in.

If they didnt give him an extension then every press conference would be about how contract ends in the summer.

Fairs. That's a possibility. I do believe though that Ten Hag will perform this year and will stay at the club for longer. I think without the injury crisis, we have proven we can perform - you may disagree, but the stats show it. 🤣

Joshua Zirkzee joins for a reasonable fee of £35m to £40m and he's been given a decent wage of £56,000 which is the way it should be for that type of player. He did decent at Bologna and might be a more link player but the goalscoring may not be as consistent.

But they've got a helping support in the coaching ranks to help them...... RUUUUUUUD!

Van Nistelrooy was linked to the job at Burnley which may have been a step down from what he did at PSV (one Cup win) so I assume INEOS pushed ten Hag to make changes after a poor league finish (bringing in Ruud, Rene Hakke and a new goalkeeping coach) whilst allowing him to have a transfer veto (and keeping his job!)

Man Utd have been pretty active this summer already.

Joshua Zirkzee signed for £36.5mil
Leny Yoro signed from Lille for £52.2m

Willy Kambwala sold for £9.6mil
Donny van de Beek sold for an initial £0.5mil, which could rise to £7.5mil
Mason Greenwood sold for £26.5mil too

Fascinating listen: https://x.com/evertonpundit/status/1820898219036901431?s=46&t=MNSDlFQ-lrINeliSW8qA0w

Apparently Man Utd should have had a points deduction last season for failing to meet PSR rules but

but they were given a £40mil exception for COVID (the other clubs were only given max 1mil)

£35mil costs for the sale of 25% of Ratcliffe was given as exceptional costs (should have been paid by the Glazers)?

Seems so dodgy. Would be fuming if I was Everton or Newcastle or Nottingham Forest.

Yoro out for three months, Hojlund until end of September. Former is horrendous luck but if he's out for three months, he can settle off the pitch and hopefully he won't be returning to a struggling team.

I can't say I've seen enough of Zirkzee but hope he can offer different attributes to Hojlund.

The returning internationals will need to hit the ground running.

Onana MOTM (again)

Reply 1416

More excuses from Ten Hag no doubt.

Should have buried that game with the chances we had. De Ligt's chance was huge and the best one he should have taken. A positive is we may have lost that game 1-0 but thanks to Onana's brilliant double save.

I didn't agree with Rashford being benched after scor8ng 3 in 2, when he's beginning to score why bench him? He could have done it against Barnsley or the Europa game coming up.

Not sold on Zirkzee, maybe he'll show more with Hojlund but as a 9.5 - as he says himself - we need more than that.

Zirkzee has that positional awareness we need. Just needs to work on that finishing. Rashy being dropped I think was correct. We need to rest and rotate players bc 3 games in a week and bear in mind our injuries last season. Garna should have had a goal or 2. I look at that game as a positive tbh. Rasmus is back and should help with the goals, Garna still has a good impact, 3 clean sheets in a row, plenty of attacking threat, and we dominated a game for once and didnt leak chances

Yeah, I'm not negative on that game in terms of how we played for the first 70 minutes or so. Definitely positives to take from it. Rashford could have been rested for Twente and pundits have been speculating on other reasons - which could be the case considering Rashford's previous - but a third game wouldn't have done him harm especially this early in the season.

I think much of Zirkzee's work may be different if he was at City or Liverpool with proven wingers whereas at United, his output may be diluted. I just wish he would show more urgency to get in the box as he did on the opening day, nothing wrong with positional link up deep but he's got to look to be on the end of it as a striker.

Expecting a similiar side that faced Barnsley for tomorrow with maybe Onana coming in, Bruno and Rashford. I think ten Hag will try to take the EL seriously as top four will be difficult
