I applied for BSc Economics at KCL and they replied with an offer for BA International Development. What does that mean?

In general it means that you haven’t made it on to your chosen course but rather than a full rejection they’ve given you an offer for a different course.
Yeh that is true. Did it say that it was an alternative offer, if not, it's worth asking them for about it and if it is an alternative offer, a reason why
