Can I take up A-level economics without A-level math? I don't plan on pursuing economics in university, and am rather looking into political science. Would I be able to do so without math?

I don’t see any reason why not. Maths wouldn’t be particularly relevant to your preferred degree choice whereas economics would. The majority of maths in Economics a-level isn’t more challenging than GCSE. You certainly don’t need to be doing a-level Maths to get it.

Yes I would say so. My brother is doing economics but not maths. His other subjects are English, history and politics.

Yes you definitely can! it is not necessary to take Maths for A Level and majority of my Economics class don't study it. The Maths involved in my econ spec (aqa) is very minimal and mostly simple formulae (percentages, ratios...)

Usually schools only require a high GCSE Maths grade for Econ A level..

For Politics/IR, Unis usually only prefer an 'essay based' subject A level, and often no specific subject at all. Usually there is no specific GCSE requirement :
