I got my offer first as an email an then some days later by post.
My offer also came first in an email; it took a week for snail mail though but that's cause i live in the states
So general consensus so far is by email - not sure whether that makes it better or worse?
I didn't get an email, just a letter - I did later get a phone call but I imagine that's not usual procedure.
They took just over a month to send out the offer letter (including xmas hols) which is quite quick for them isn't it?

Is anyone who has got an offer going to be turning it down?

I'm wondering if colleges will set any further academic conditions apart from the funding conditions?

I received a letter,no email.

No, they won't. Academic conditions are set by the department, so if your departmental offer is unconditional, then your college won't suddenly demand a first.
Seriously, stop worrying.

hey everyone, what conditions has everyone been getting? Just a 2.i or 1st or do they specify? Like a 69 or something like that?
Hi, I am interested in applying to the Msc African Studies.. but i am a bit late i think. It says the final deadline or third round is march the 23rd so I have time but it also says that it is better to apply early. So , question is, is this course really competitive and will there even be spaces left? Applications take some time, moreso when in Africa and not always with internet access. I just wonder if anyone had any advice?

ahsante!

Well, seeing as you don't actually have the option of applying early anymore, why don't you just apply now and see what happens? If you apply, there's at least a chance that you'll get an offer. If you don't apply, there won't be, obviously...:dontknow:
If continued internet access is a problem for you, you could do a paper application. As long as you can get hold of your referees relatively easily, it shouldn't be any more complicated or time-consuming than an online application.

Applications take some time, regret stays forever. Just give it a shot. Not much to lose, right?

The department will know whether there are still places available. I've talked to them before and they were really helpful. Just give them a ring and ask whether it is worthwhile for you applying.

wooow! thats great. What were your marks like from the years before, what subject did you apply for and what uni do you go to? I think if i got an unconditional offer i would faint, then i would wake up and enjoy the rest of my year!:eek3:

thanks. I got low firsts in both 1st and 2nd year, I'm doing mathematics in a top 10 uni in UK and the course I applied for is full time MSc Mathematical and Computational Finance. I don't hv any working experience so I guess I might hv done pretty well in my interview? but I really didn't think so before I got the offer...

Congrats

Getting more nervous now if Jan applicants are getting offers *goes and hides with Soc*
I agree with the hiding - I'm so nervous and I was told that the course I've applied for is among the most competitive at Oxford so I'm worried...still I guess I either get in or I don't...the waiting is awful though!
