Hi! I was just wondering how you found about your college acceptance....via post or email? I live in the states so if it is by post that means I have to add another week onto my waiting time
I did find out by post, yes (sorry) I'm not sure that necessarily means that everyone will though - I also got my original offer only by post, but I know some people got emailed.

Thank you splatblob but oh no..... Oxford already lost one of my transcripts by post so hoping that this envelope will make it safely across the atlantic
so i take it that EVERYONE who has applied for the nov deadline (and got an offer) has been contacted by their respective colleges? it's been quite a while now (2 months) since i got my offer. why is it taking the colleges sooooo long?

I got an offer in November and still have not been contacted by a college.
I put down Jesus first, St. Antony's second. I'm not too fussed, however, as I'm not looking for College accommodation. Jesus does have a lot of money, however...

Are you renting in Oxford then? As I thought postgrads still had to be within a certain distance of the university?

I'm not sure of my plans yet. Oxford is my hometown, so could theoretically live at home if the funding falls through. Otherwise I would definitely be looking to rent - I had enough of halls as an undergrad!
Postgrads need to live within 25 miles of Carfax (Ox city centre) - that's actually quite a large radius, not that I'm looking to commute from Reading or anything...

Ooo didn't realise it could was 25 miles
Not that I've got anywhere to go but college accommodation IF I ever get into the place.
I've applied for the English M. St. at Oxford. I sent my application off quite late (about a week before the January deadline). The only confirmation I've had that they received it on time was an automated email, even though I sent some of the application by post - is that all I should have expected to receive so far? I assume they would have contacted me if there were any problems with the application...
Also, I'm lucky enough to have had offers from a few other places. I don't want to make a final decision until I hear back from Oxford. So is it okay to accept offers from elsewhere and then turn them down later, were that necessary, or should I leave them hanging, as it were?
