Was that incredulity at me being "almost ready to apply"? Trust me, I go to Cambridge, doing substantial amounts of work just before the deadline is not exactly alien to me. There are still four days, all I need to do is chase a referee and write a statement.

No. But I suppose it might make it a bit more likely you get into your colleges of choice.
