ARGHHHHHHHHHH, it's not the waiting, it's the constant asking by other people whether I've heard or not
You might consider tattooing "No, I haven't heard yet, but I'll tell you when I do. Honest. Now stop bugging me, please." onto your forehead. Or just print it on either side of a T-shirt, if you want to be boring.
I bet the admissions committees are reading this thread and laughing at us neurotically checking posts every few hours. They're just letting the tension build ps there are some sweet smilies on this site...

Just got a rejection letter from Oxford for a MPhil in International Relations.
Which is weird, in a way, considering that the LSE gave me an extremely generous acceptance for a MSc in International Relations with funding.
Oh well. Just is life
ohh sorry about that did you only find out by letter, not email? I have an offer from LSE for the MSc in int relations as well.... im scared of oxford now, more than before...
Well, I got a letter placing me on the re-evaluation pile for MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice... Does anyone know smth about how does this type of situation usually work out? Has anyone had a good outcome of this? Also does this mean that I won't be considered for the scholarships any more regardless?

Cool! Good luck with your Oxford application then. Which one would you choose if you got an offer from Oxford? I wasn't planning to take it anyway. All my lecturers told me that LSE is way better for IR than Oxford. Plus I got funding from the LSE which will make the cost of the course half as expensive as the LSE's.
I going to apply to Oxford to do my DPhil there next year. But then again, I will also be applying to Harvard, Chicago, Columbia and the LSE.
I bet Harvard will accept me and Oxford will reject me again. That's what they're like!
PS. I heard from them by letter. I haven't received an email.

*sigh*
i am in the same boat, and have been since december. i should be finding out in the next few days whether the re-evaluation worked in my favor. i have not heard from anybody who was told "maybe," which leaves me to think that perhaps it seldom works out. like the above applicants, i have an offer from LSE. unfortunately, i have not been alerted of any funding from them either. really wanted oxford
I submitted my application for MSc in Politics Research last Friday, March 13 deadline. Does anyone know when applicants under the March 13 deadline will hear back from Oxford?

*Keeping my fingers crossed*
Thanks!
Think for March applicants, it's something like the middle of May. Best of luck, you're in for a long wait

I suppose that means a letter from Oxford will be coming my way tomorrow or so... LSE refused to give me any funding together with my offer so I will end up going to Cambridge, if Oxford rejects me too, that is. Would you mind sharing your stats, i.e. grade average, quality of references etc.?
I know people are hanging on the edge of their seat these couple of days with Oxford letters and so on, but I'm directing this to people who have an offer already: have you RECENTLY received news that you were accepted by a college? (and if anyone has put down Lincoln as their first choice i'm even more interested in hearing about it).
I put down Lincoln as first choice and Green Templeton as second choice. Haven't heard from no college yet. But it's only 3 weeks ago that I received my offer so i suppose I have to be patient.
Rejection from Oxford for the MPhil in IR. So Cambridge it is...
Oo This is getting more and more frightening! At least you have cambridge though, im doing my undergrad there now and it is an amazing department with really supportive tutors so you will be happy there Besides cambridge itself is so relaxed and pretty Did you know by letter or email?

They sent a letter, no emails. Yeah, I am quite happy with Cambridge too + I would probably not have been able to afford Oxford without a scholarship anyway, that lessens the pain a bit.

What size was the envelope? I know it means nothing as my plan b offer came in an A5 envelope but even so, little things and all
