Assuming all conditions e.g. funding etc. have been met and accepted by my college, does anyone know how long it should take to receive a contract from the University and college?

That probably depends on how busy they are at the moment, but there's no real reason why they shouldn't send you one straight away. After all, once your offer has become unconditional it's probably in their best interest to get you to sign the contract.

Have waited a week now for my department contract. Hoping it comes soon as I'm so bad at getting round to paperwork so need a margin of time to return it!

As I remember, it just needed a signature and date - most of the 'effort' was in photocopying it.

Well that's a relief
I didn't receive my department contract until about two months after I'd submitted all the other stuff to the college. It may be quicker at the moment though, as presumably they will want to get everything finalised fairly soon.
I hope so - has been over a week now!

I have waited 6 weeks from the day I sent all my stuff to college. But I would also expect that they want to finalise everything in august you should hear earlier. But don't worry if it takes some weeks

I echo the 'don't worry too much' sentiments - mine seemed to have come from a more central point than department even (i.e. from the Division in general).

I didn't actually sign my contract until -1st week thanks to a misunderstanding, but even that didn't seem to cause any major problems...:dontknow: Unless you're an overseas student and the signed contract is necessary for your visa application (is it?), I don't think there's any reason to worry about it. It's just a formality, really.

Yah, they won't send your visa letter until you do. Its kind of a hassle, so I'd sign the contract ASAP.

As per the visa app, there's not a spot on the online to write in your school info right?
As of now I am still college-less!! And most of the colleges are now full, or so I heard.

Could somebody tell me more about Kellogg College?
I've been accepted by a graduate college to study for a DPhil. My first choice colleges rejected me and I was put into the open pool. Although this college looks very pleasant, it seems unlikely that it will be able to offer accommodation, which is something I had really wanted. Also, more superficially, I would prefer a mixed undergrad-grad college.

I am unclear whether, because they have sent me a letter, I am now considered part of that college (in the understanding that college "migration" does not happen), or whether it is still possible to wrangle into a different college. Could anyone clarify this for me?

No, sorry.:frown: Once you've had an offer from a college, you'd need *very* good reasons (such as needing a college with better wheelchair access etc.) to be allowed to go elsewhere. And even then you'd probably be out of luck at such a late point during the application process.

Very, very true - even as early as March/April, finding a college with partial wheelchair access was a challenge (presumably because it was just after all of the gathered fields, and undergrads had already been allocated).

Most of the colleges I spoke with could only offer for '10 if I wanted accomm.

Undergraduate and postgraduate accommodation is kept separate, as I understand it.

It is...but one of the colleges was willing to switch a PG staircase with an UG one.
Just an update, I have now pulled out of my offer in favour of a course at Nottingham - so Linacre College may have one more space for someone!
Do we have to send in a transcript with the visa application? Has anyone applied recently to be able to tell me how long it took their application to be returned after they sent it in?

Please let me know...thanks!

I sent my visa application in on July 15th and I got an email on July 23rd saying that my visa has been processed and will be sent to me via UPS.

You don't have to send in transcripts -- just the visa letter from your department and financial documents showing that you have enough money to cover your fees. I also had to send in a passport sized photo.

Did you fill out this form:

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/docs/1903073/PBSappendix8generalstudent ?

If you did, what did you put in for 5.3 then? :

5.3 You must send all of the original certificate(s) of qualification and/or original transcripts of results that are >>>>>>>>
listed in the Visa Letter. Put a cross (X) in the box to confirm you have done so

Please let me know.
