I don't think it's any more liberal than other universities.

Although, that said, it is a 60s glass plate. It was founded at quite a radical time and did, back in the 60s and 70s, have a reputation as being quite a radical and progressive place.
So you're generalizing all 20000 students as left wing and hating the army and war?

War!

Huh!

Yeah!

What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing To give students a sense of overinflated self as they campaign against it. :ninja:

Is that not pretty much just a general description of students?
As has been previously said - it's probably just as liberal as most other unis.

Cardiff is a 'liberal' stronghold (at least in council elections) because of the sheer number of students here who vote for them. It's a contest of the "centre-left" here and the Tories don't get a look in.

Though, we do have a Young Conservatives here, or Conservative Future or whatever the heck it goes by now...so it's a diverse mix.

I'm assuming you're bringing this up as you have an innate fear of Reds and Commies (both the same, I know) coming into your flat at night and duct-taping your mouth and throwing you to the wolves for having "rightist/slightly right of centre/centrist views".

Don't stop the make-up of students from letting you attend a Uni. Uni is a diverse mix of people, and there will always be a majority, a minority, and an overwhelming sense of politics going around.

Its going to pay my mortgage, so I like it.

You dont have to like it, but banning the army from campus is a bit extreme. People have a choice as to whether or not they want to join, IMHO its not Warwicks right to say that they cant recruit from here. It does nothing for the image of the Uni.

You cant generalise so many students so easily, but there does seem to be a large number with a loud voice who tend to be left wing. With the number of international students and what have you its very easy to be left wing and hard to be right wing.

I think he (or she) is stuck in its 60s and 70s early years.

It's a politically engaged place, but so are many unis.

The more intelligent and educated you are, the more likely you are to despise the army and war.

Please tell me that’s sarcasm.

if you are so narrow minded that you really believe that then maybe you are not as intelligent as you think.

War is not a good thing, but there is sometimes a peace that can only be found on the other side of war.
Of course there are also bullsh!t wars too.

But on the plus side at least it gives privileged activists, people who have not had to fight for a thing and taken their freedom and safety for granted an excuse to moan and act as if they are rigours and care about things, while simultaneously disrespecting the sacrifices of thousands to fight for their safety and freedom.
Of course it doesn’t seem o matter that the reason they have their freedom to demonstrate peacefully is fundamentally down to wars being fought.
Ah the irony, got to love the irony.

nicely put
I think most British unis are like this. Students are usually left-wing, unfortunately...
