This is quite a common route into teaching. How long it takes will depend on the qualifications you already have and the ITT routes open to you.

Do you already have a degree?

It is common. You can apply for an undergraduate degree that leads to a QTS if you still yet to obtain a degree. GCSEs Maths, English and science at a grade C (primary teaching). If you already have a degree you can do a PGCE which many universities offer such as Newman University. An undergraduate degree will take 3 years. https://www.newman.ac.uk/course/prim...eptember-2021/
PGCE= 1 year- https://www.newman.ac.uk/knowledge-b...ducation-pgce/
