line A has equation y=4x-1

line b is perpendicular to line a and passes through the point (8,5)

work out the coordinates of the point where line B intersects the x-axis

at the x-axis, y=0.

line A has a gradient of 4? So line B has a gradient of -1/4

line B has the equation y=-1x/4+7 (or 4y=-x+28)

so substitute 0 for y: 4(0)=-x+28

x=28, so the coordinate is (28,0)
