How to gain extra UCAS points

Is there a way to gain 8 extra ucas points?
why do you need 8?

I haven't gotten my grades yet but I'm just planning out what I will do when I get bad grades. I counted my predicted bad grades I could get to total 88 so I need 8 more for 96 ucas points.

Can you learn an instrument to grade 6 any time soon? Or sit an AS?
