Alternatives for EPQ to do with maths.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative for EPQ that's more tailored towards maths? I feel like EPQ is more to show that you have a genuine passion for the subject you're applying for, and while not taking an EPQ doesn't necessarily have an adverse effect, I'm struggling to find something to show my passion. I didn't take an EPQ in the first place because I didn't want to deal with essay writing and such, and I just wouldn't have the drive to do it mostly. But now I'm sort of realising that I'm limited on things I can put on a personal statement. I'm thinking of offering myself to help out with the younger maths classes next year and perhaps reading a book or two (bridging the gap between A-level and Uni level maths).
Thanks

Yeah, tutoring is a great way to consolidate what you know and proves that you understand maths well enough to teach it (which is a big plus!). It builds up your CV and maybe even your personal statement. Also, you could try an online maths course - there are loads of free ones on Coursera etc... and they're always useful I find. Books are always good for extra stuff before uni: Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon Singh is apparently really interesting.
Hope any of that's useful!...
Some extra reading/study would give you similar 'beyond A level syllabus' evidence - see Maths on this Cambridge list :https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/sites/www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/files/publications/super-curricular_suggestions.pdf

Tutoring kids suggests you are a generous person, but it doesnt say anything meaningful about your passion for Maths.
