Well...the religion aspect
just having to believe in a higher deity doesn't really fit with my own beliefs, you can pretend and nowadays they are quite inclusive but from my own knowledge doing things for God is still a big part of the program, interestingly every male on my mother's side for a good few generations have been quite senior figures in the freemasons...although they are all dead now so can't really question them on itDo like the idea that businessmen (and some women nowadays) get together for charitable causes it's quite a nice thing

Of course that makes sense. I asked the question because a lot of people wrongly claim the Masons bar Catholics when in actuality it was the Pope banning them from joining.
If you believe in no God however, then that does throw a spanner in the works.
