Hi, I haven't got an acknowledgement from Edinburgh yet, but my application was sent on about the 27th October and I'm wondering how long it normally takes? And is it as a letter or email? Thanks.
I'm guessing it's always by e-mail - I got mine that way. It took around 3 weeks or so, I'm sure you'll get your's any day now.
Mine took a month to the day!
It took me 10 days to get it. 
My acknowledgement took a week, still waiting/hoping for an offer ^^.
That's two, now, but I'm not expecting offers from either until February/March unfortunately.gbp1
what course did you apply for? For a lot of courses at edinburgh it can often be after christmas when people recieve offers.
Yeah, I know... My application is not "easy" either as I'm not from UK so... I know I may recieve an answer after December. I'm applying to do Cognitive Science, but if I'm given an offer I may "change" to AI w/& psychology (core courses are the same in the first two years if I recall correctly).
