In how much detail do I need to know the structure of a phospholipid because in the textbook it does not say the actual structure of the phosphate just the word, is it necessary to know the structure of the phosphate (OCR A)

i'm OCR A too, and im pretty sure its just you needing to know the structure in detail. Like know all the bonds and the structure of atoms. You should be able to recognise it

yeah I just learnt the charge of the phosphate ion and how to draw the molecule with the double bond with one oxygen atom and the negatively charged oxygen atom attached to the phosphorus atom
