I'd agree that the Cambridge Four/Five are at least among the worst. I'm not aware of any worse Cambridge graduates: Nick Griffin doesn't even come close.

Come on...

Doubled starred first in Latin and Greek?
Fellow of Trinity college?
Professor of Greek at Sydney Uni at 25?
Urdu speaker?
Disagreed strongly with Chamberlain's appeasement of Hitler?
On the outbreak of war, joined the Army as an Infantry soldier, rising all the way to becoming the youngest Brigadier in the British Army?
Labour Voter? (Ok, that's a bit of a downer )
Family man?
Linguist in 12 languages?
One of the Top 100 Britons? (as voted in 2002)
MBE?

Sounds like you'd have to go pretty far to find a worse fellow, really.

Sorry to be pedantic but he voted only once in 1945. He worked for the Conservatives.

Anyway, his involvement in Suez should be enough.
Hmmm well, he's certainly controversial anyway. Or maybe that's just the hand-wringing liberal in me talking

Oh aye, I knew that. It was just to appeal to the left-wing masses...

But, was he, or was he not, a labour voter?
