Hi

I am considering applying for optometry this year .. however as I did not do any science/math a levels I’m considering doing a foundation course first and then going onto optometry. I have 3 kids my eldest is 14 and this is a huge decision for me. I put my career on hold to have a family and I’m in a position whereby I’m free to devote time to do what I want and optometry is something Iv always wanted to do (due to other factors I was unable to pursue it at uni.). I did 2 alevels (AA) and 2as levels (the as levels combined gave me a B) therefore for ucas I have an AAB. However my closest uni is Aston and after speaking to them they wnt accept ucas points only Alevel minimum BBB. I now have to make a decision whether to go ahead an complete an alevel or if I should do an optical dispensing course instead. Maybe optometry isn’t meant to be for me but a career closely linked could be. Any advice or suggestions welcome. Sorry for the long post
