No of course not. I just don't understand why people don't seek fun where it's available.

Perhaps we have different ideas of fun? :dontknow:

Well if your idea of fun is watching heart surgery, then yes, yes it is.

My idea of fun isn't only watching heart surgery. But yes, it definitely includes medicine...and politics.

And getting drunk. And the piano. But not at the same time :yy:

You play the piano?

I've been struggling through Keane's "Everybody's Changing" today. It's not particularly difficult, but I only printed it off today, and it's a little hard getting started. It'll sort itself out though.

Probably easy for a Viola virtuoso such as yourself though. Except I would be very amused to see Keane being played on the strings

I never knew you played. Always wanted to learn but I find it impossible. Something about reading 2 clefs at once and 2 hands... I just can't play two separate hands and nono...
Plus my parents would only pay for violin or piano, which turned into a viola.

Virtuoso...ha I wish. I wish I practised properly when I was a kid.

I bet you're like grade 8 or something :p:

Tbh, I didn't learn to play with two hands till last year. And I was horribly undisciplined as a child (piano wise I mean). I started learning about 10 till I was 14, then gave up till last year when I picked it up again  It does come back to you though.

It feels weird to read the two lines at once in the beginning but you get used to it :yy:

Does Viola just use the one clef then?

Yeah...all string instruments just use one clef. It's the Alto clef/Viola Clef/the C-clef (so many names), which means I'm terrible at site reading treble. Unfortunate so many instruments seem to use it. :shifty:

Ahh I see. Well, I've never used that clef before...just treble and bass for me.

So have you finished grade 8?

Ha no. Never had that much dedication.

Not for me :hmmm:

How did you burn your fingers?

Hm, we should really have a QMUL Chat meet too, even though there's only like 5 of us over here

I'm about 3 hours away from London though :s-smilie: effh. Oh, or do you mean between yourselves? erm ok....

Erm well I was pouring gravy on a plate which I was holding at an angle and got my fingers instead. Ouch. Couldn't take them out of water for about an hour without them seriously hurtinng

BTW guess who's planning to let loads of locusts free in Durham uni? I don't think he's joking (look at dgc)
*Accidentally unsubscribed*
I'm PMSL right now. Someone made a "Which QMUL Professor of the Politics department are you?"

...with the result Ray Kiely.
You are the boss! You are the head of the department, because people see in you stability and professionality. You are a very rational and correct person, who likes to joke and has good sense of humor. The main interests of your life are symbolised by globalisation and Chelsea football team. Your students love you, because you show them your human and genuine side. You are generally a cultured, pretty cool person that sometimes gets a bit nervous when people do not do what you say. You hate SOAS academics..

I don't actually mind, but yeah, it seems like you guys in DGC have quite frequent meet ups, but us TSR QMULers are really quite anti social
LOL, Sparks, are you coming in here and poaching QMUL students to import to our chat thread?

hey does anyone know any of the members from that dance group of britains got talent, 'diversity' they apparently study at QM, mostly physics and engineering.
I went to school with one of them, I've neer seen them around QM.

Democracy, were you in an exam this morning?
