When have you applied?

You should have received an e-mail, of sorts.

Yeah, you were supposed to log-in to the system and choose your accommodation type. Then you should have received an answer.

Have you applied recently or in June/July?

I technically had an offer, but they've put me in catered Intercollegiate Halls, for £600 per month, non-ensuite rooms (shared bathrooms), etc. etc. and there's no way on Earth I'm gonna pay this much for that standard, considering the standard and price of the place where I live now. Plus I really don't feel like paying for food that I'm not gonna eat anyway - I know how to cook and I prefer to eat when I want, not when someone wants me to. So - I have made an appeal, early August I think, and now am on waiting list for the Mile End campus.

Give them a call on Monday, but tbh I think that if you were given an offer initially, you've already lost it anyway, as there is a certain timespan within which you have to let them know, otherwise they have your offer passed on to the next person in line. Maybe their e-mail got lost in your Spam folder or something, it's quite unlikely that they haven't got back to you at all, if you applied on time, before the deadline etc. etc.

Nah, she scares me.

She's like the bulldozer in Tiananmen square, where I'm the skinny Chinese boy. :argh:

Well in that case, keep half a brick in your handbag at all times like my great aunt.:p:

What did she do to you?

Hi,
I was wondering if there is anywhere to park at Queen Mary? Anywhere on campus or nearby? At affordable rates? Anyone at all who knows anything about car access to Queen Mary?
Bubbles*de*Milo
It's not too bad. Got used to it I guess, going to Mile End is proper out of my comfort zone.

I've always been in Central; born here, lived here, all my schools, I've never been anywhere I couldn't get to roughly on a 6 bus.

And now it's like trek and a half tbh.

I'm just a West end girl. I even speak like a West Londoner...

According to Johnny I sound totally London.

Oh, I was on the 6 today, got it from Maida Vale to Edgware Road/Marble Arch.

Have you always lived in Kilburn/Queen's Park then? Or did you live in a different area of Central before?

Thank god for the pub meet

Erm, born at UCLH. Lived just off Edgware rd for for a bit. Then I think we moved to Stratford (yes, I know... not central), for a few months, and then when I was 18 months we came to Queens Park.

Stratford, eh? :holmes: If you'd stayed there you'd only have been one stop away from uni. Then again Stratford is uber fail :nn:

NO NO NO NO NO. I've been trying to find somewhere myself. If you do, please let me know, that said, if you do, it'll be a well kept secret so you probably won't tell me.:frown:

Your best bet near uni is Bancroft road. Not sure how much it is to park there as it's by Mile End hospital but I'm sure theres somewhere residential nearby that doesn't charge so much..

Not looking too good right now. I can't see myself commuting 2 hours a day to get to Uni and back. I might use my maintenance loan to get a cab daily. Really not looking good.

dude

why don't you just rent a room somewhere near uni?

doesn't even have to be an "organized private student accommodation", just get a bloody room for £100 per week or something

there's plenty of them

like, dude

Where do you live? I commute for about an hour plus each way a day; you get used to it. If you mean two hours each way however, that's crazy.

I meant 2 hours each day, an hour to get there and an hour to get back. I live in Sudbury, near Harrow? Wembley? It will take two trains. Not ideal.

Fair enough, I suppose you had better find somewhere closer. That said, I take a train and two tubes to get there (and that's on a good day).
