srsly, the additional problem with me is that all the correspondence goes to my original address in Poland (I had to give them my Polish address, even though I've been living in the UK for a fair while), and it takes around 10 days for the letters to arrive and only then my dad can scan it and e-mail that to me

By the way say if I get my first installment on the 23rd of September and my Residence contract begins on the 19th, is it acceptable if I pay by cash just for the first week?

As for paying for our residences, I'm pretty sure the first payment date is at least a week after the 19th because some people don't even enrol until the end of the week (4.45pm on Friday! for me) and the loan isn't processed until you enrol as far as I understand the system.

That must be really frustrating! Eep, I want to phone them and ask what's going on with mine, but I doubt I'd get anywhere.

I'm pretty sure it'd be fairly easier to number the applications they haven't messed up terribly than to count those that went wrong, lol


Should be OK, I'm pretty sure that the first payment should be made on or before the 5th October or something. At least that's what I've been told by someone at Accommodations Office when asking about monthly payments (I'm a non-UK citizen and have neither a maintenance loan nor £5'000+ to splash out for my housing, so will have to go along with monthly payments). So it should be pretty OK, just tell them about that in advance, universities are generally pretty OK when it comes to stuff like this, they know that students are generally poor people

Actually I've never been put on hold even, but that might have something to do with me going to the EU Team directly rather than SF England?

Anyway, they seem to pick the phone immediately, it's just that there's a lot of paperwork to be done in my case (one uni I've applied to and have been accepted but never enrolled, 1 year at another uni completed), and it takes ages for the information to be processed.
